I have varied ages in my household 14,12,9, and 2. I was wondering what items people think will be hard to find for4 Xmas this year? Amazon is letting you preorder Clone Wars Lightsaber Duel and Guitar Hero (the whole band one) for wii...Anyone heard from their rugrats yet about what they will want this year? THANKS |

I think the new Elmo Live is supposed to be a hot one-- there are pre-orders for that, too.

Well we just bought this AWESOME dinasour robot that I saw on the endcap of an isle at Target. It was in a glass "cage" type thing so you can try out the remote. The remote is cordless, and the age I think starts at 2 or 3. Well my DS will be 2 in December, and he LOVES it!!! I have to say it's soo cool, and the age range on this says it goes up to 10 years old. We paid $130 for it, but it was so worth it, it's very dourable and if I remember right it was made by Fisher Price or one of those good brands. This thing is great and keeps him entertained for a long time! ...it keeps DH entertained too!!! ![]() I definately suggest taking a look next time you're at Target or TRU probably has a demo out too. But the demo doesn't do it justice because it doesn't get to have full range of motion moving around in that little box. It is slightly taller than 2 year old DS when it stands on hind feet and it roars, it walks, it "eats" it is truely probably the best $130 spent. And I'm sure you can find better prices, especially on Black Friday. But even through Amazon or shopping sales.

My Target also had a demo on the Elmo Live, it told jokes and sang and dance, it was a short demo that you pressed a button for, this was located down an isle near other Elmo items. HTH

We had fun playing with the Dinosaur at Target, but that is close as we are going to get to one at our house. Christmas is going to be pretty light at our house this year. My DD keeps saying she wants an American Girl doll, but when I tell her they are too expensive, she tells me that Santa can afford it. Makes me miss the good old days when we both were working. One year "Santa" bought DD a Barbie house AND a ride in Barbie Jeep. But those are the sacrifices we make for me to stay home!! Years ago when the original tickle me Elmo came out, I happened upon one at the store and bought one for DH as a joke. I was in shock at how much people were selling them for. Then when my daughter started to play with it, his head kept coming unattached and I had to sew his head back on (kind of like Frankenstein). Finally threw it out because there was nothing left to sew together.

Anyone know the cost of the new Elmo? I saw yesterday a sign at Toys R US that said you could pre order for $10.

I will bet this one will be it. We stood at Target for 10mins playing the Demo, a crowd grew around us and DH, DS (13) and myself wanted one. I almost bought one. I would put cold hard cash this will be a hard to find item really soon.

It really sounds like both the Elmo and the Dinosaur might be a good investment....if you have the money...they both sound like hot items that will sell for a pretty penny on ebay come December!! Might even make enough $$ on them to go and buy another one of each when they restock in the spring with no $ OOP!!

It's so depressing how expensive toys are these days!! We are going to be tight on money this year too, because I am staying home from work with our little one... and the price of heating oil and gas isn't going to help things this winter!! I am hoping to get my 6 year old son that new Leappad learning pen that reads the books.... he really needs soem help with reading and i was hoping that would help, but it is about $55.... eeks...

If they aren't dying for a DS Lite, you can get the regular DS (used) at a Gamestop for much less than a brand new DS Lite. My kids got the DS when it first came out and 1 has upgraded to the Lite (with his own money). Mary |

I still really like WebKinz, especially the $6.99 LilKinz at Walgreens that I can get with RRs. They're wildly popular with my girls and their friends, and fun for me to play when I'm bored and earn them KinzCash for their accounts. High School Musical, Hannah Montana and Littlest Pet Shop are all big hits here too. I'm holding out hope they'll have some great deals on these. |

The big hit this year for boys in Ohio is Bakugan, We are having a really hard time getting our hands on them. It is so crazy around here, the shelves are clean at target, toys r us, kmart, walmart and the only place that I was able to get my hands on them was at Walgreens and they are more expensive there but worth it for the christmas surprise for the boys.
