UPDATE POST # 25 Dear Valued CVS Customer: Thank you for contacting CVS regarding the availability of L’Oreal Advanced Revitalift. There was an overwhelming response to the two-day sale and I apologize you were not able to obtain the product and the $11.99 ExtraBucks®. As a result of this overwhelming response, CVS and L’Oreal have partnered to send those customers who were unable to participate in the offer, the advertised L’Oreal Advanced Revitalift. There will be one per household mailed out and quantities are limited. You should expect the product to arrive in approximately ten (10) business days. Again, thank you for contacting CVS. I got the same e-mail. I thought they had totally ignored my original e-mail at the beginning of the week because they hadn't replied or even given it one of their automated "incident" numbers. The store manager wouldn't give a raincheck for the Revitalift because it was a 2-day sale item. Yet, the only store for a city with 50,000+ people had only 2 on the shelves and those were sold within the first hour of the store opening on Sunday. It's utterly ridiculous not to anticipate a greater demand for an item that's highly advertised. Kudos to CVS for making it right by mailing the Revitalift out. Yeah, I'm bummed that I couldn't turn the deal into a $6 profit after coupons but at least I'll receive it. |

Wow, that's amazing! Good for you and good for CVS! I am one of the lucky ones who found it in the store so I am already set (and I've been using it-- don't I look younger already?!? ).

Hmm I too had e-mailed them about this and I received the same e-mail as above from them. I just wonder where they plan to send it because I believe my address is not on file with them.

I also emailed them and asked if they could issue me a raincheck. (The cashier was super busy and frazzled). I received the same email today! I'm so happy. I really wanted to try the product but would never buy it at its regular price. So cool. Great customer service!

I just e-mailed them - when you go online to CVS, you have to fill out with your EC card number, address and e-mail address. That would be cool if I could get it. I think it would probably be easier on them to just put $11.00 on my Extra Care card - but maybe I'm just getting greedy!

Dear Ms. Morales: We appreciate the time you have taken to e-mail CVS regarding the recent L’Oreal Revitalift promotion. Both L’Oreal and CVS were amazed at the tremendous response to this promotion, and are excited that so many of our customers want to use this product. I apologize that you encountered problems when attempting to purchase the Revitalift. Whenever we have a promotion such as this, our CVS team partners with the product manufacturer in an attempt to predict how many customers will want to take advantage of the sale. In some areas, we saw a demand that was much higher than we had expected. Because the product is one that we normally stock in our stores, our policy is that the store should issue a rain check if they cannot find the customer an appropriate substitute item. I’ll make sure to notify the management team in your area that the process was not followed so that the appropriate coaching and training can take place in our store to prevent additional customers from having the same problem that you did. So that you don’t have to make a special trip just to pick up a rain check, however, we will be mailing you a rain check for the Revitalift. The rain check will reflect that you would get the product at the sale price ($11.99), less the Extra Care bucks (also $11.99). You should get the rain check in the mail within the next 7 – 10 days. Once again, we do apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to serving you again in the future. I e-mailed them a little late to complain... basically after I read that other people had done it successfully, and I got an e-mail yesterday that I would be getting a raincheck and the ECB's for it !

I got the same letter with the info on the raincheck. I guess they decided it would be easier to make us go hunt down the product at the store instead of them spending the postage to send the actual product. I don't care either way, I am just glad they responded so well to the fact that the product was hard to get during a two day sale. GO CVS!!

UPDATE: I rec'd a box from UPS today that had the Loreal Revitalift in it, along with a letter apologizing and they also state that they are only sending this to "a specific list of consumers who were unable to participate in the offer". "In addition to the enclosed product, we invite you back to store on 11/9/08 when this two day offer will be repeated (quantities limited)." Cool. |
