I did the Kraft deal yesterday and while it went smoothly, they had to get the manager called over to override the amount the cashier was " taking off ", with q's. I asked if anything was wrong when the manager got there, she said no, they are limiting the " off " amount, to 8.00 per purchase, without a manager oking it, but that it was fine. She said you got a really good deal. I told her I have to work hours figuring it all out though, then she told me to come back soon. As if I had spent a ton from my own pocket. I think I got around 50.00 for 12.00 Thanks

Yeah, anytime I use coupons it seems a manager has to override it, but its never a problem. They're always very nice and have never said anything about my coupon use. Actually, their usually impressed with my savings.

I LOVE HEB! I've never had a problem using Qs and the cashiers are always so nice and supportive when they see the savings.
BTW, I didn't know they did the override on savings over $8 since I usually save more than that on most transactions, but about a week ago where I saved over $50, a manager had to come over. Cashier guy was super nice and manager just came over, did his thing, transaction was complete and I was happy.
And on yesterday's transaction I saved more than $8 and no manager's approval needed...maybe it's just at certain stores (I shopped at two different locations).

It's true what HEB says, here everything IS better!

I don't coupon much at HEB. I can't seem to get it together in that store. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping there, it just seems like there is always too much going on. I tend to do my couponing at Wal-mart, then I go to HEB to get the stuff I can't get at Wal-Mart.

i have never had a manager come over to approve anything at HEB. went today and saved 30 no problem

Same thing happened to me this morning. I bought 7 items and had 6 coupons, and I needed manager approval. I freaked out for a minute. The cashier said, "It's probably because you have so many coupons." I was thinking, "There are only six. What's the deal?" But after reading your post, I looked at my receipt. The coupons totaled $9.01.

I don't want to have to get manager approval every time! *whine, whine*

I've been told that if you have more than $50 in coupons, they will have to override. (happens to me all the time)
But the other day, I only had $35.07 in coupons and still had to have an override. I was told it was a % thing, I paid 12.56 oop.
I've never had any problems with it, everyone at HEB is always so friendly, and impressed with my savings, Even the time I had $185 in coupons and paid $93 oop

I had an awful time! Plus I got home and realized I didn't get credit for a lot of the Kraft free cheese coupons.

Sorry to hear that. You should take your receipt back and tell them about the error and get credit for them.
