I have been searching for a portable DVD player at a reasonable price for a couple weeks. Today's ad for Target has the TruTech 7" portable DVD player for $119. However, I have never heard of this brand and cannot find any reviews on the web. Does anyone have experience with TruTech electronics?

I worked in Guest Service (where you do returns, etc....) for over a year. I can tell you that TruTech gets returned more than any other brand in the electronics department. However, I can't say I ever remember that one being returned.

Good Luck if you do get it. Make sure you keep your receipt for a return or exchange within 90 day if it is needed!

trutech is not a good brand i purchased a tv/dvd combo and it awful. the dvd player works occasionally and the volume is turned up to the max and it is still low you can hardly hear it and when a dvd decides to play you have to turned the volume down because it can too loud.
so don't waste your time or money

what about audiovox? My target has the 10.2 inch portable dvd player on clearance reguarly $150 for $111 right now. Waiting for them to go lower though

True tech stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted a compact DVD player for our bedroom..... I got it for DH for X mas..... It was broke by feb! Save your money!!!

My kids have burned through several regular sized True tech dvd players. They don't hold up very well but for the price, we just look on it as disposable electronics Maybe the portable True techs are better but I doubt it.

Picked up an Audiovox double screen portable player at Target a few years ago and haven't had any problems with it.

I bought the Tru-tech dual screen DVD player for my kids for Christmas this past year. Opened and installed it in December. We have used it maybe 5 times....already doesn't work. Sometimes it plays, and others it says no disc.....

I have also had the Audiovox one that someone suggested. That one stunk too! I will be purchasing my 3rd portable DVD player in 4 years if I buy another one.....They are great for the kids but the frustration doesn't make having one worth it!

DON'T BUY IT!! This brand is horrible!! I used to work for Target as a GSTL/Front end supervisor and got soooooo many complaints about this brand/company. It's not worth it. I would keep looking.

We bought the Tru Tech portable dvd when it was on sale for 89.99 on black friday. It has worked well for us so far. We made a 12 hour road trip and it was worth $90 just for that alone! It kept my 3 year old happy. We don't use it very much, but it still works for us.
