| BOGOF Qs used with BOGOF items - is there a corporate stance?
I was able to use BOGOF Qs for the St. Ives deal at my RiteAid *however* this only was allowed after much back and forth between me and the cashiers, the manager and the manager's boss (that she called), etc. Is there a corporate RiteAid answer as far as their policy on this? I would like to go do the Vive deal and others, but feel that I will get stopped again and have to go thru the whole process....? Thanks! |

I really don't know about a corporate policy.I do know that it very much varies from store to store. One store (like mine) says nothing about it,if it rings up then its fine. Others act as if you are committing a crime. All I can say is maybe try a different store if you have one. Maybe somebody else can give some better advice.

You gave great advice Ashley! I too feel the same way--it varies from store to store. I read Rite Aid's coupon policy and nowhere in there does it say anything about BOGOs. It does however say no IPs, and we all know some stores do take them, LOL. It also seems to vary from cashier to cashier. Best of luck with your Vive coupons! |

I wrote to RA today because I intended to use 15 BOGO vive coupons. I used the ST. Ives coupons with no trouble, but since my RA just stopped taking IPs, I figure they may be paying more attention to Qs. I wanted to get everything straight and print out the answer to take to the store with me. My question: I have a question concerning coupons. I enjoy shopping at Rite Aid andusing coupons. I was wondering what exactly your coupon policy is and more specifically if you have a stance on using a buy one get one free coupon in conjunction with a buy one get one free sale. I would like to print out your response and keep it handy in case I ever encounter a problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks and have a great day! The response: You can only use one manufacturer coupon per sale. However, you can use a manufacturer's coupon with a Rite Aid coupon at anytime as long as the two combined do not exceed the amount of the item you are purchasing. Rite Aid will only accept internet coupons printed from our site. Unfortunately, due to fraud we do not accept coupons printed from any other site, even those printed from the manufacturer. Whenever an item is on sale you can use a coupon on the item as long as the value of the coupon does not exceed the value of the item itself. For instance; if you have a coupon for a $1.00 off and the item is on sale for $0.99, the coupon cannot be used as it exceeds the value of the item being purchased. I hope this explains in further detail the coupon policy for you. Also, you can use BOGO coupons on BOGO sales. Corey Customer Support She okays BOGO with BOGO so I'm happy! HTH! |

I just tried to use 10 Vive BOGO coupons at a Rite Aid I had never been to before. The manager was running the register, so before he rang me up, I asked if they would accept the coupons in conjunction with the sale, as other Rite Aids in the area did. He looked at them and said, "Oh no, I don't think the register will accept them." So I said "Fine, I just thought I'd check since the other Rite Aids do". Now this is where he irritated me... He says, "Well, here, I can try to ring up two and see if the register will take them." So I hand him the Vive and the coupons, he rings them in, scans the coupon, then just stands there looking at the register. He didn't hit a total button or anything. Then he says, "No, won't take them." Does he think I'm that stupid? I just told him I had used these at other Rite Aids. Does he think I don't pay attention to the buttons they push, or if a cashier seems confused that a register won't accept a coupon? Uggh. It just annoys me. He already told me "the register" wouldn't accept them and and I didn't put up any fuss. Why go through the charade for me? I have two other Rite Aids to choose from, so I'm not going to bother with that one again. |

Ugh. It sounds like he's either not familiar with coupons or intentionally didn't punch in the amount of the coupon. He HAS to do that or the coupon won't take. He can stand there looking at the register all day, it won't take them unless he punches them in. So sorry you didn't get your items. Like you said...I'd try another store. It's 100% permitted by RA to use a BOGO Q with a BOGO sale. My suggestion to everyone is write to RA about it and print out the response. Next time you have a problem, wave the email at them. They'll have to figure out how to put the coupons in correctly. We're not only getting good deals, we're helping the managers and cashiers become coupon savvy! It makes it easy for everyone! |

| Coupons and BOGO sales
If an item is BOGO, can you use a BOGO coupon to get both free? -OR- If an item is BOGO, can you use two cents-off coupons (one for the paid-for item and one for the free one)? |

Hi there! I do both. Here is a link to the post which has a summary of the email I received from Rite Aid reguarding BOGO coupons and BOGO sales. Unfortunately, this seems to be an extreme case of YMMV. Both times I had trouble with BOGO coupons and BOGO sales, I ended up getting my products. The last time was awful. http://www.afullcup.com/forums/rite-...te-stance.html I also just posted in the gripes, groans, and rants section about the RA manager who had no clue this was allowed and argued with me about it forever instead of just calling his boss for assistance. http://www.afullcup.com/forums/gripe...-i-cursed.html It's up to you do decide whther you want to use the BOGO coupons or not. One store was fantastic, one store was horrible about it. I've never encountered a problem using 2 coupons for two products even if the one item is free. Good luck!! |

I've emailed riteaid twice about this same issue.* I still haven't had a reply, so I would say your doing better than me. I've also called once and was told someone would get back with me no reply. I was using the bogo covergirl lip coupons and the cashier took the coupons, but didn't ring up the right price on the free ones. When i showed her the mistake she told me she wasn't suppose to take them when they were already free anyway! I would just like the coupon policy in writing. Missy |

I just used two L'Oreal Vive BOGO coupons with the BOGO sale yesterday. The cashier asked the manager if she could take them (she clearly didn't want to - lots of unhappy expressions going on there!). The manager said to scan it and if it scans she can use. She scanned one, it took. Didn't want to scan the second one until I told her to. Had a lot of Rite Aid free items from the recent rebate program (allergy rebate I think it was) so I suspect I was trying her patience yesterday, making her enter the coupon prices - LOL. I walked out of there with two big bags for $2.23

Yep, I will NEVER understand why some cashiers get so snotty and on the defensive when they see people trying to get coupons! I think I wrote in another thread (maybe this one) about how I got denied at my RiteAids. This is what they sent me after I wrote in: Me: (Borrowed most of it from Jenner, )I have a question concerning coupons. I enjoy shopping at Rite Aid and using coupons. Also, am I allowed to use a coupon that is for 2 items (such as buy 2/get $1 off) on a buy one get one sale? And lastly, would I be able to use a coupon that is more than an item is priced (1.00 off on an item that is .99)? I have three Rite Aids in my area, 16XXX. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks and have a great day! Them: You can only use one manufacturer coupons per sale. Dang! It looks like all (s)he did was copy and paste the generic response from someplace. Isn't that the exact same answer I got? It even came with the typos! I am SO GLAD you wrote them too! I like the answer I got being reinforced...thanks!!I have been having trouble with a capital T at one of my stores. The one shift manager is rude beyond belief and I *would* quit shopping there but they are having grand opening sales that rock, including bogos, so I'm shopping there! I have every right to use my coupons and I will continue to do so. Said manager seems to want to argue without listening and harrass me. The second incident happened the other day. He told me everything from "RA doesn't get paid for your coupons" to "you can only use one coupon no matter how many items you buy" to "you can't believe everything you read, thats what happened to Wall street " (because I told him RA gets face value + .08 handling) to "Your coupon usage is exorborant" Now how is this man going to tell me the 10 items I bought and 4 coupons I used is exorborant?!? I do almost ALL of my shopping at Rite Aid. I've tried CVS and Walmart, but like RA for everything except groceries and of course clothes, shoes, etc. Because he not only argued with me twice instead of calling a higher up like I asked him to and he followed me around the store LOUDLY talking about my coupons, while other customers stared on, I wrote to customer service again asking about coupon policies. I want to do what is right in the eyes of RA, and I do not want to be treated poorly. I went into specific detail about both run-ins I had with this man, but I didn't turn him in or use his name. I didn't even tell them what store I used and if the person was male/female. I'm NOT looking for trouble nor do I want to cause this man trouble but I feel he either lets me use my coupons and hushes up about it, OR he can let me speak to the store manager about it. If she says no, then I just wont go back. Either way is fine with me!! I can't understand how he lets me do the BOGOs on BOGO sale then runs his mouth about it the whole time. Leave me in peace I say! End of rant/vent. Sorry! I get all steamed up, LOL. |

The employees at my local RA are apathetic at best. They couldn't care less what things ring up at, or how much "free" stuff I walk out of their with. My RA is also severely understaffed. Sometimes, there is only one cashier at the register, one managerial person floating around, and the pharmacist. I'm beginning to suspect that RA's don't pay too well, and don't particularly treat their employees well either.
