My wife got got a nickel off her Target purchases the other day because she used her own bag. She was told this was a new program. I don't know if this a nationwide program or not.

Ours will only do this is you use Target reusable bags. I had bought most of my bags before Target came out with these. At our local grocery store though, they will take a nickel off ANY reusable bag you use

Yes, I just found this out too while I was checking out at the Pharmacy. WTG Target!

The Target eco-green (red) expandable bottom bags are now 99 cents like the other ones, check the price scanner!

BTW, I am in TN.....

That is awesome! Though I love their bags as they are heavy duty plastic. At my Target store they also use paper bags and that is what we use for our garabage bags.

I use reusable bags 90% off the time for all my shopping..wag,target,walmart .. they look at me so weird (the cashiers!) no $$ here.. maybe ONE day! I do live in Okla.

I have 3 Target reusable bags that I use every week and I will definitely ask for my nickel. Is it a nickel per bag?

My babysitter works at Wal-Mart and she said starting next year, Wal-Mart will not even offer any bags. I wonder if Target will follow suit? Anyone heard anything?

I can't see them not offering bags at all for quite some time. My sister has been using cloth bags for years. I'm fairly certain Fred Meyer is supposed to offer you .05c per bag when you bring your own, but I sadly never remember mine.

I'm all for .05c off for each bag used, it's like a bonus Q off our already low totals. Wonder if we can get overage?

Last night I went to target and the cashier asked me if I wanted a bag (I only bought 2 items) and she told me that since I didn't take her bag I got 5 cents off. She said that if you brought in your own bag, (reusable or old plastic bag) or if you didn't use a bag at all you would be getting the 5cents off.

I love Target's expandable reusable bag cost $1.49 in Waynesboro, VA even tho' I live in Roanoke, VA - the reason I go up there is because this town just had new Target which is huge with plenty of food fridge in that store! The cashier asked if I want my stuff pack in my new reusable bag and she was so nice to do that for me! I will buy more Target bags to stock up and thanks for mention about 5 cents off, I will ask for my 5 cents! :-)
