Update Sunday: DH called yesterday and they guy is transferring his spending AND ECB to the new card. I'm not so sure this is going to happen. DH even asked specifically if the ECB would be able to be used with the new card and the register wouldn't beep. Guy said yes. DH asked if the ECB would still be good even though new card will have different last 4 digits. Guy said yes. We'll see. The guy was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable, so I'm hoping it will all work out!

Oh, and of course, he found the card tonight in the laundry room. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it registered? They can look it up by phone number.If not just explain the situation to them and they may force his ecb through on your card. I've had that happen and they just used them for me. HTH

when they ask for the card, just say you don't have it..and give em the phone number that is linked to it. .. like bette said!

My card and his card and linked to the same phone number. Will that cause trouble?

It shouldn't, but it kind of depends on how much your store enforces one per household. My store actually encouraged DH and I to get our own cards because he works in N.Raleigh and is so far and often finds different stuff. And they used to not say one per household at all. So, not 100% sure on that.

I'm in the same situation. I just discovered I lost DH's card too!
I contacted CVS and they said he will have to report it lost and they will give him the card number, he can change the phone number associated with the account (going to use his cell number so I can use the ECB's this weekend) and they will transfer his spending to new card number which I do not want to do at all. Its like starting all over again!

I'm going to tell DH to tell them that the card is misplaced somewhere in the house (which is true) so we can get a replacement so that we can have the same number. Changing to new card means that any ECB's earned will beep under the new card. CSR said they cannot attach ECB's from a former account number to a new number but they can transfer if we get a replacement card since it will have the same number.

I'm hoping that the card will pop up somewhere. The last time I used the card was the day before I went into the hospital. After that, I dunno

UPDATE: DH called CVS and told them the card was misplaced in the house. They are going to send us a duplicate card with the same account number and he asked if he can change the number associated with the account just in case its really lost and they said yes. His cell phone number will be used instead and now I can use the ECB's with no problems. Yeah!!!!

Thanks so much. I'll have DH call for a replacement. Of course, that doesn't help with the 5/30 coupon that is only good tomorrow, but I got one, too, so that's OK.

I think you will be OK with using the 5/30 that you received on DH's card. The account number will remain in tact and give them the phone number for the card and the coupon should work. CSR told DH that the phone number changed I mentioned above is effect. We decided to do it that way so that it will be easier for me give the number (which is not our home number, his cell) I will know it is his card that I'm using. I seem to do better with his card than mine!

Thats crazy this happened to me last year. I called corp. and all they could do was send out a new card (not the same #) that was linked to the account. They did link his spending but could not do anything with the ECB's. It was right after the Huggies, Ziploc deal !!! and I had $40+ ECB's

I lost my very first CVS card months ago and they sent me a replacement with the same account number but the first few numbers were changed generically and it still worked with my ECB's. It took about 2 weeks for me receive it. I have since lost that replacement and now have a brand new number that I had to start over with. I just burned up all my ECB's on that old lost card and started fresh with the new one. Unfortunately, they were not able to reissue my ECB's with my new card number so I went to the store the same day and did about 4 transactions to burn them all up.

Since they are transfering the ECB's and Summer Spending to the new account number then you should not have any problems. Fingers crossed for ya!


I found DH's card in the cup holder in my car the other day after I already shopped and gave them his cell number. The replacement card that we will receive will have the same last 4 digits of his account number. CSR stated that if we found the old card it will still work because the first few numbers are "filler number" and the last 4 are the account number. I'm just going to keep using his cell number to get things on his card until we get the replacement in a few weeks.
