Iwent to target today and I used some IP coupon and after the cashier scanned it she just threw it away,they usually put the coupons in their drawer but this cashier just tossed the coupons in the trash. I went around the register and I saw my coupons sitting on the trash can,I was shocked but it's kinda funny.If only I had the guts I would have ask for it back..LOL

So very sad, she was not trained correct and now her regisar will come up short. I have to think if that were my daughter, I feel sorry for her.

I've seen them do that to my 4/20 email coupon at cvs, too.

Last night at Target the cashier put all of my IP's in a pile to do last. He tried to scan the first one and when it didn't scan, he just entered it as $1 off, counted the rest and tried to enter them all at once as a $6 coupon. Well of course the register told him he needed a manager's approval for a coupon of that amount and the unfortunate customers behind me picked up their stuff and went to another line. I guess his total will be fine in the end, but I've never seen anyone try that before.

I agree Sally. Hopefully her trainer will notice them and explain about q's.

I had a $16 coupon at Publix once because the cashier entered them in all at once. I don't remember if they needed approval or not.

I did notice this also. Maybe they don't need to keep them anymore. The manager came over to help and they made 2 piles of q's. When they finished the target went in the trash. I did see him counting on the screen and he told the kid just make sure your count is the same as the q's. I did not want to ask to much because the cashier was new and still learning.

That happened to me at Kmart once. The cashier threw them away .Luckily the csm was there helping her and caught it. I bet she got a talkin to.

Yep, her register will show up short. I probably would have told her that they needed to go in the drawer so her register doesn't go short. I ususally tell my cashiers when the enter a coupon incorrect (i.e. give me too much off). I like to use my coupons honestly. Besides, if they know that you are looking out for them, they are more likely to be nicer to you when you go in the next time.

Wags trashes all their coupons and keeps only the MFQs. My experience anyway.

Wow, I feel bad because IPs are mnfctr Qs and I am pretty sure that register will be coming up short. I remember once at WAGS, the cashier was throwing the $5 RR in the trash ....I asked a manager about it and he ran to take them out saying we would have been really short tonight and would have spent hours trying to make it all balance out! Wow, in the trash, might do a dumpster dive at Target..

Yeah I would have pointed it out to her too. That way if her register came up short she'd know exactly why even if she didn't take them back out at that time.

Happened to me once at target. I said something, she laughed (that embarassed kinda laugh), took them out and thanked me. She just wasn't thinking and would have been way short.

I have never worked at Target before, but have worked as a cashier in several grocery stores. Everyone I worked at the coupons were just collected from the register and not counted. The only things they counted from the drawer were money and checks. Of course, throwing away coupons is still making the store lose that money, but hopefully it would not make the cashier's drawer come up short.

Now, my DH is a manager at a CVS, and if they happen to throw away ECB, it would eventually be noticed and show up as a shortage.
