Wow, my worst experience at CVS ever! Sorry, this is LONG! So I went into CVS today to get a few things, using my $3/15 email coupon and $10 ECB from doing a survey. (I haven't been shopping at CVS at all lately, so this was a quick trip to use some coupons up.) So, when the cashier scanned my email coupon, it beeped and said it didn't match my ExtraCare card. So we go through the whole ordeal... Cashier: Oh, this is for another card; do you have another card? Me: No, I don't have another card; it has to go to this card. Cashier: You must have another card...this didn't match your card. Me, again: I don't have another card; I got it in an email the other day. So the cashier called the manager, and we repeat the above statements, this time with the manager. The manager is really confused, so then she says "Have you already used this coupon?" To which I reply, "No, I just got it the other day in my email; I do not have another card and I have not already used this coupon." She looks at me, like "Yeah, right" and proceeds to say "Well, we'll put it through this time, but you really need to find out what's going on with you card...you must have two or something." So I repeat again what I have been saying the entire time: I do not have 2 cards, I have not used the coupon before, no one else in my house has a card, and no, my phone number is not hooked up to another card...still complete disbelief from the manager. Then the manager repeats "We'll do it this time". So then the best thing of all happens...(insert sarcasm here), I give the cashier my ECB's to pay, and she says to the manager, "Look, these match the card" and I say "YES, because I only have ONE card!" And the manager walks away, shaking her head, still implying I am a complete liar. So the cashier starts to suggest all kinds of other reasons for why the coupon won't work: maybe my husband has a card and I don't know about it, maybe my phone number is wrong, etc...by then I am so mad, because I do not enjoy being treated like I'm trying to pull one over on CVS, so I say "Well, I'm just going to call corporate", and the cashier says "Oh, good! Then you can get your card straigtened out!" Um, no, I'm calling because your company has send me a coupon that doesn't work, so when I use it, I am given the third degree and treated like a thief/crazy person and both of you think I am lying to get a lousy $3 off of my bill. The cashier is stunned, then she started explaining about how they get in trouble if they take coupons that won't go through and you know, the usual story... Anyway, to sum it all up, CVS will be getting a call from me tomorrow morning...if a company directly sends a coupon to a customer, the customer should not have to jump through hoops to be able to use this coupon. I should not have to defend myself to use a legitimate promotional coupon sent to me directly by the company...needless to say, I will not be shopping at CVS anymore.

Call Corporate! I am sorry this happened. I KNOW that this is SOOOO frustrating! But I had a problem with CVS and I emailed Corporate and they got in touch with local store manager, district manager and I don't know who all....but the problem was handled. I got a personal call from the store manager, a call later form the district manager, a few emails from a customer person at CVS and later a gift card from my local manager. So I applaud CVS for handling problems that they are made aware of. I complain loudly when things are not handled correctly (but to my DD HORROR) but I also want to give praise when praise is due. I cannot fault a company for having "issues" at the local level, as no one can know what ALL of their employees do at all times. Some are misinformed, some undertrained and some just jerks! BUT, I applaud a company for atleast handling the complaints they get and these people seemed very eager to get the problem resolved! Let's hope they do the same for you, as your store has no business treating people like this. In this day and age, I don't think any store can afford to lose customers! Keep us posted! ![]()

thank you for calling corporate. And sorry about this happening. I really want CVS to fix this problem too. I think it is wrong that they send the coupons that do not work, and then accuse customers for trying to use them. It seems as CVS is sending "fake" coupons to customers just so they can accuse their "valuable customer"s. Very Wrong. I have been very hesitant of using coupons that have been directly sent to my email because of this reason. I never know which ones works, or which ones do not (fake ones.... or trap. ).Hopefully CVS will consider doing something about it after hearing it from many ppl. that customers are unhappy with this issue.

Some people do try to fraud cvs but they had no right to tread you the way they did. I would call corp. and let them know what happen and give them the managers name. Hopefully you will get an apology.

I am not liking the email coupons either. I printed off the free chapstick email I got but when I tried to use it in the store it wouldn't work (b/c the cashier couldn't figure out the price was higher than the coupon allowed) when she called the manager for help, the manager told me I was only supposed to use it once per card. I told them this was the 1st and only time I have tried to use it, and she basically rolled her eyes and said customers were only supposed to use them once! I am an honest person and this was my 1st time using it and I really didn't appreciate them hinting that I was a liar. I was so mad over the lack of customer respect, I almost told them to shove the chapstick. It wasn't worth a character review. If CVS isn't careful, they are going to be running they loyal customers away!!! ![]()
