has anyone questioned CVS

about the difference in a purchase and a transaction? To me, if I have two items and two coupons on the same receipt I should be able to use both but I am being told that I can only use one because it is 1 purchase. I was under the impression that it was 1 transaction but 2 purchases. Does anyone know what corps deal with this is?

I had no problem using 4 Life Saver coupons in one transaction today. Except none of them would scan so they had to manually put them in.

A "purchase" represents each item you buy in a single transaction. So, you are correct that you should be able to use multiple Qs for the same product as long as you buy the same number (or more) as you have Qs for.

THere was a new cashier and she said one of my coupons from the beauty book kept coming up as exceeds limit. So she said only one per transaction. I said, no I bought two items and those from the beauty book beep or add charges instead of deducting it, so double check. When she tried to scan my Evian water coupon and she knew I bought 2 like the coupons states; she told me to give her back one of the coupon and she would manually put it through. Could that message have come up on your transaction?

I had a similar problem yesterday with a cashier when I tried to purchase 6 Dove deodorants and had $.75 Qs to go with each. She said that I could only use 1 because it said "1 Q per purchase!" I tried to explain to her that I was making 6 purchases in 1 transaction, so I should be able to use all 6 Qs. She didn't want to hear my explanation and just said that she had to confirm it with her manager. When the manager came over, she said that was fine, I could use all of my Qs.

I agree and think that the CVS employees really could do with training on coupon language to better understand the difference between a "purchase" and a "transaction"

Regarding the Qs from the CVS Beauty Book though, you do need to be careful, as some of the Qs say "limit 1 Q per customer," so you really only should be using 1 per transaction you make as a new "customer"

the coupon from the beauty handbook for $2/cvs skincare product says limit one per customer, which is different from 'one per purchase'. that's why the register will only let you use one at a time. HTH.
