How do you all give your coupons to the cashier. I normal do this order. x/xx MFR Coupons ECB's I would appreciate anyone's input on this. I have done this in different order and for some reason it seems to work out different even when I do the same deal a second time. Thanks!!

If you give $/$$ ECBs manu then your tax will be lower, as ECBs "take off" some of your sales tax.

I've just gotten the hang of doing it this way... $/$$ ECBs Manu. Qs I always, always, always do it on the calculator 2-3 times. It does make a difference when you use the manu. q's last!

X/XX manu q's ecb's I hand the cashier the x/xx and manu q's in one pile. Usually they scan them in the order I give them. Sometimes not. They give me the total then I give them the ecbs. I always calculate my oop before I get to the store and I am always right...right down to the penny.

I always used to give it $ off, MFQ, then ecb's, until I started paying crazy tax, like almost $2. So I started trying it the other way and it's still messing me up. If I pay with my ecb's first it completely wipes out any tax, then when they got to scan my last MFRQ, the register goes negative so I always get stuck running for a candy bar. I would think that the last coupon would beep to be adjusted but it doesn't.

Coupon Order I give them the $/$$, ECB, then man Q. This does lower the tax. Instead of running for a candy bar I always have in my cart a little something that is practical that I could use if necessary. An example would be this week the Bowl Appettit pasta is $1 each. My little people like this for a lunch treat so if I go negative I will throw in the pasta. If I don't need the extra item I just tell the cashier I don't need the last item in the cart. My cashiers are use to this and always very nice and polite about it. Try using a trial size item as the extra to use if you go negative. I have also used kleenex and small chocolate milk (another treat for the little people in my house). Have fun playing the negative game!!

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, (and paid more tax oop as a result), but if I can lower my overall total before paying with ECBs, then that enables me to save/build ECBs. It doesn't make sense to me to spend ECBs first then give a manf Qs just to pay a lower tax, when I could have saved a $4ECB from having been used in the first place.... ![]() I can't see how paying with ECBs first lowers tax. I thought a taxable item was a taxable item. Even if you are getting it for free (B1G1), I think you still pay tax on it. (Maybe that's just FL) I know when I get scrapbooking items for free from Close To My Heart I still have to pay tax on them...!?!??!? Maybe someone can site two examples of paying the two different ways for clarification. Or,
