| Beeping Coupons? If you hand the cashier a coupon and it beeps and the cashier puts it through anyway, can they get in trouble? Tonight I gave my favorite cashier three coupons in my first transaction, and two of them beeped. He put them through anyway. Then on my second transaction, one of the coupons beeped and he put that one through as well. I was happy he did it, but I would hate for him to get in trouble for it. I have talked to the manager about internet printables, and he told me he takes them with no problem. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Two of the coupons were 3/15 that I found on the internet. |

| were the 3/15 the ones that beeped? if so, they beeped because they are expiried. :\ i'm not sure whether he can get in trouble or not. if he is careless about it, maybe. |

| The 3/15 that I found an exp. date of 6/30/08. That is why I am a little worried. |

| It just depends. Does he do it all the time? Was it an obvious altered coupon? (Not saying it was, just using that as an example). Did it expire in January? Something like that, then he might. However, we're allowed to use some discretion when it comes to making the customer happy. Some coupons are legit and they won't scan for some reason (although very rarely). If they're expired by a day the register will usually beep. In the end, it all depends on the circumstance! |

| Yah, I know the cashiers CAN make things work (at least the good ones, i.e. educated & confident) but I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble either! I know I had an ECB expire on me Sunday and when I went in Monday I found a manager and showed them and asked if I could still use it. 9 out of 10 times the answer is yes especially when it is just a day or two. They when I got to the checkout I gave the expired one first and it beeped of course. I told her I talked to the manager and he said "she would make it work" for me ~ and she did! I get such awesome deals at CVS that I wouldn't want to every get anyone in trouble and I am always sure to call in and do the rcpt surveys (not for the sweeps but to compliment the good stores and cashiers). |

| The coupon looked exactly like the one that was out last month. The only difference was the exp. date. I was able to easily print it. I didn't post anything about it because I don't think that it is allowed. I have never had a coupon beep on me, so I wasn't sure what to do. I don't know if he regularly does it, because it has never happened to me before. I have sent an email to corp about how polite and helpful this particular employee is. He has checked me out many times. I know I have read about alot of people who say that the cashiers just "pushed the coupons through", I just don't know if that can cause the cashiers problems or if it is standard practice to keep the customers happy. |

| I don't think there would be a problem unless the coupon wasn't legit, was expired, etc etc etc. sometimes coupons beep for no apparent reason - I had a revlon one (good for any revlon cosmetic) beep last week when the revlon was bogo. the clerk called the mgr over and he was like "it says revlon - she bought revlon - just override it" and the register magically granted my $2 off. |

| That same thing happened to me last week when I tried to buy the ALL Detergent. The q from the Sunday paper beeped. It was legit, and was not expired either. Who knows..... |
