one thing to consider, you can't take % with these numbers because one is year-to-date, and the spending is just for spring. Do you have a receipt that shows your winter total?

add the two numbers - 752.20 + 41.20.

Then divide 793.40 by 41.20, which is .05.

You spent spent 5% (or saved 95%).

I know there may be another way to figure it out since this way is backwards.

mtalk made a good point - if you have your total from the spring spending, you should add it to 41.20 so that you'd have a more accurate % savings.

Based on the total give you have saved 94%

I know there is a calculation but this is how you do it.

Subtract what you paid from what you spent.

In this case $711 saved

Divide 711/752 = .945 round to .95% savings.

Hope that helps..

Except you would want to first add winter & spring spending. Since the savings is year-to-date.
