How do you keep track of what you spend? Or do you? For all of your purchases at CVS? I would like to get an idea of what I am spending and what I am saving, plus what I am purchasing but have no idea how to set it up. Thank you.

This may not be exactly what you're asking, but I keep track of which card (our family has 3) I've bought which items on using the monthly CVS Extra Value Book --- for instance, this month, on the back page ---- I have noted that Mom has gotten 1 Smart Rinse, Dad has gotten 2 Smart Rinses and DD has gotten 2 Smart Rinses. That way, when I'm shopping and trying to get up to $15 to use an x/xx, I can easily tell which card is still eligible for which ECB items. When a card has reached the limit, I cross that person out. I do kind of the same thing with the ECB items from each Sunday's ad --- right under/around the item, I write down which card the items were purchased under --- for instance, in this week's ad --- for the buy $10, get $5ECB candy deal, I kept track of which card, Mom, Dad or DD, purchased how much money worth of candy --- I was doing the Gold Emblems Candy @88cents (and using the x/xx and the $1/2 scanner q's), up to the $10 required total. Likewise, when I bought the Titanium Razor, with a limit of 1, I wrote down "Mom" and then crossed it out. I realize that I can get this info off the receipts, but by keeping track of it on the ad and CVS book, I don't have to keep referring back to my receipts --- now, if I ever lose my sale paper or my monthly booklet, I'm in trouble. I mean I can figure it all out again, but it would take me a little time. I used to keep track of exactly how much something cost (mostly so I could brag to my husband ) but much of the time, things are either free or moneymakers, so I usually don't bother anymore. This really, really works for me! ![]()

I don't keep track since I never spend real money there. I mostly use ECBs to buy things, and then use gift cards I get free with new/transfered RXs to pay the balance. I haven't spent any real money there since I began CVSing in Jan.

Kristieboyd and I do it the exact same way. I made an initial investment of exactly $19.80 in January when they had their big Pull ups/Goodnites sale.(You know, I just opened up my last pack this week) I haven't spent any money there since then.(except for on GC's and the one time the registers weren't wotking properly and I had to pay my oop with my debit card...it was quite painful!)

ummm I let them keep track. it shows on my receipt how much I've spent and saved. I do have a spreadsheet set up but don't use it. as long as the stuff is FREE I don't necessarily need to keep track. although it might be fun to record it all for like 5 years and come back and look...

How do you get so many GC there? Do you get a GC everytime you bring in a prescription? I'm confused.

Good Lord, I don't have time to keep track of spending, saving, etc. I look at the bottom of my receipt and see what I have bought, what I can still buy, how much I have spent and how much I have saved. I personally know that I spend very little oop and that's all that matters to me. I'd rather spend my time figuring out my next deal! LOL! Vickip

I just look at the receipt which tells you how much you how much you spent and saved to-date. Next I check to see if I have anymore offers I can max out for that low OOP.

I just keep track of my total OOP, not including gift cards. I started out with a $25 GC from transferring a RX and have been rolling the ECBs ever since. Occasionally I will pay $ OOP but it's not much.

I use the spread she and love love love it. I can see exactly how much merchandise I've gotten and my ecbs, It has a bar graph, it's nice to see on paper not just in my spare room I'm going to start useing one for my non cvs too. It's just very cool to show the doubting Thomas, like my daughters and prove that I'm only spending $32.oo for $700.+ in merchandise.
