food stamps One of the parents of a child a keep was asking me how I get such great deals at CVS and was wondering if they take food stamps. Well if they do and she gets food products with ECB, will she still get her ECB?

I don't know where you are located, but here in Michigan the food stamps are loaded onto a 'Bridge Card'. It's basically a debit card. So she should be able to get any food items w/ECB's using it.

I know that in texas it is loaded on to a "lone star card". I am 90% sure CVS takes them. I tried to use it at walgreen's once and it didn't work, and was told that no walgreens took it, although I KNOW I've used it at a different store in the same town. In texas they have a sticker on the door that tells you if they take it or not though.

not sure about CVS I know that Eckerd used to take them, I haven't tried it since my store has switched over to a Rite Aid. Some Walgreens will take them, but not my local store. Also be prepared to pay tax on your coupons. Even though with food stamps food items are not taxable some stores will make you pay the tax on your coupons. Since my state's (TN) food tax is 9.25% this can add up to a few dollars.

I've seen a sign at at least one of my CVS's advertising that they do accept food stamps here. I'm in Charlotte, NC.

wow thats interesting even if its a grocery store in oklahoma it has to be a food item it can't be any other item such as shampoo or lamp or anything like that. That should not be allowed to buy other items than food. wow I am really shocked

Generally, food stamps are only for food. I have never really understood why people can buy 1 pound boxes of fannie may candy or steaks and lobster for dinner every night but they can't buy toilet paper!!! |
