I have had the same card for years. Long before I even knew/realized what they were for. I've read all the no-no stories on here about having multiple cards and never thought about getting another one. Well, my DH has learned how much $$ we can save by going to CVS, so he's offered to stop at the CVS he passes daily going to/from work. I just keep taking my card off my keyring for him to use and then putting it back on. Well, yesterday he told the clerk he'd like to have his own card because he's tired of having to take mine, and worried he'd loose it. So, she gives him a new card. No problem. Then today he goes in to get more lip balm and earn his first ECB's for his card. There is a man in front of him checking out and the clerk asked him if he had a card...he says no, so she gets a card out and swipes it for him. She tells him you should keep this so you'll get a discount. He wasn't interested and leaves. So, she tells DH he can have the card. He said, I just got a new one yesterday. She said, well, now you have 2. I guess multiple cards is a YAMV kinda thing?? Obviously this CVS doesn't care. Anyway, we're going to give my DD the new card. She's 15 and it'll be good for her to learn how to use them. Also, she'll be able to purchase what she wants. I'm going to have DH get more lip balm tomorrow for her card so she'll have her first 10 ECB's to learn how to roll. Also, she's going to six flags on Saturday so the lip balm will come in handy for her. I guess on Sunday afternoon's we'll have a family outing to CVS and everyone can work their own deals... .Awww..entertianment for the poor and frugal. ![]()

On the other hand if it was up to my 12 YO son he would use ECB's to buy all of the candy he could! He loves to come along with me and help pick out stuff and get the lowest OOP price. Maybe he should get a card! |

My DH has been doing deals for me while he's out driving for work too! Funny! I hope you have some q's for your DD's trip to Six Flags. That place will suck the life out of your wallet. It costs a $1.00 just to leave your stuff by the side of the ride, they took away the little baskets and put in lockers. So crazy...

Oh what a great idea for your daughter to learn how to shop smart! When I was 15 I would have loved to have gotten all that cheap/free makeup and beauty stuff. My daughter is only 6, but she already knows all about coupons and "great deals", and she is also a good saver of her allowance. It's so funny when she wants something at the store, but then stops and asks if we have a coupon for that. .Now if I could only get my husband to learn the ways of cvs....

That's awesome.... My DH thinks it would be great for me to bring a CVS flyer and my coupon book into my classroom and make a big math lesson out of it... to see which kid can make me the most ECBs and best deal LOL I think it would be neat, but I live in the town I teach in, so it would be more competition when they take home their work and show Mom LOL Whadda ya think?

I called CVS customer service today because one of our cards could not be updated. The Lady said you could have multiple cards per household. But when it comes to a deal that says limit 5 per household for example, they would "prefer" it be 5 total for your whole household and not five per card. Then she stated but we can't tell where each member of your family lives, so we can not control that.

i think it is a YMMV thing... the one month, march i believe i did all of the deals on my old card with maiden name, my updated card, my moms card, and my step dads card... now i havent done them ALL since, and i typically dont, BUT unless they are the big sticklers, they dont care... none of my CVSes do, and i have four here <3

Oh family outing to CVS nice bonding/saving money experience! I pick up my mom on Sunday and we take trips to whom ever has the best sales. I got both my DDs CVS cards so that they could learn how to do their own deals. Its fun doing the coupon/bargain hunting together.

My 5 year old learns all the time how to shop. She knows if it doesnt have a clearance tag or mommy doesnt have a coupon, we will not get it unless it is from the dollar spot. ![]()

I had to double check this post to make sure I didn't write it. Everything you said is me and my 6 yo DD. She plays CVS at home (checker got a real kick out of that when I told her). Although, the other day, she asked," Could we skip CVS for just today?" (CVS is next to her school and to save gas, I make the trip after I pick her up EVERY DAY) Of course the answer was no, but don't let me go without her. She throws a fit. We even have a routine. Bathroom, Wash our hands, Water Fountain, EOB Lotion, Scan our Card, finish shopping. She always asks if we have a Q before asking for something. We just started an allowance so this summer should be interesting. Bet she'll really want to go then.

Corporate "asked" me if I wanted to merge my dh and I's cards. I said do I have to? The gal said no, so I said no it's easier this way. However the district manager kind of ripped me saying no no it's wrong.

My DD is so excited about getting her own card. I told her about her being able to get one, but haven't done it yet. She is just as much into couponing as I am. She'll point out things in the store that she knows we have coupons for or she will point out things that have peelies or blinkies. Just the other day, we were grocery shopping and she was going through my purse. When I asked what she was looking for, she told me that she was getting out my coupons to see if we had a coupon for a certain item that she thought we needed/should buy. I didn't have a coupon for it and she just said that we'd wait until I had a coupon for it. Girl after my own heart! We're going to CVS tomorrow and I'm going to let her use DH card. He hasn't used it yet. I am so hoping that they have some of the HT lip balm or Sun Junk. I think that would be a great 1st deal for her. She has been amazed with all of the make-up and nail polish that I have been getting for free or making money or ECB's on.
