DS has a med he uses daily. I have already xferred the script to CVS to use the q for a GC. When I xferred it, that particular script was written by "Dr. Bob", his ped, and he is now out of refills. So, now I need to get him some more of the same med, and I have a new script written by "Dr. Joe", his specialist. Do you think this will qualify for another GC?

It's for the exact same med, but I am thinking it will count as 'new' b/c 1) he's out of refills, and 2) it's from a different dr.

Any thoughts? TIA!

it should count as a new one since its a new prescription. I always look at it as each slip I hand to the pharmacist is a new prescription but as always YMMV

should work. I had a script with CVS that expired. I was filling at krogers then transfered to cvs and even know i had the expired one in the system they gave me my 40gc for transfer...

It will be a new prescription because they will have different prescription numbers. It doesn't matter if it is the same drug!

Got my new GC with no issues today! Script is refillable for a year, though, so I probably won't get much mileage out it. Oh, well. I'd rather have no scripts, no GCs, and a healthy son than tons of scripts, tons of GCs, and a sick child at home. Here's to hoping this is our last GC!!

i am new to this... do we have to have current perscription from elsewhere befere doing this?

I think it's a YMMV type of thing. I always ask since the q says transferred script, but I've never had an issue using it on a new script.
