The other day I went in to do my diaper deal. I got a $10/$50 when I scanned my card so I added in the covergirl deal also. I had coupons and stuff of course so when it came to use my ECB it was $25.50 something. So I decided to give my ECB from the Softsoap deal last week because it was about that, $24.95 and it was a biggie. So she scanned it. I had in my head that I would pay .55 or so .. you know that add in your head thing. LOL So it didn't work right and she was trying to do something and said I wouldn't owe anything. then she said I guess you do, have to pay tax on the ECB and I had to pay $1.35

Not that it was a big deal I am just wondering for future trips. I have never had a 0 OP trip and I assume I can't because of the tax? anyone? or was she pullin my chain.

Here in CA you pay tax on the total AFTER ECB and CVS qpns but before MAnuf Qpns...make sense???
so if total is 50, use a 10/50 and 25 ECB... you pay tax on $15, even if you have Manuf for $15 so your subtotal will be $0, but u pay the tax on the $15....

Each state plays with the tax differently. In some places, you pay the tax on the total $$'s before any coupons!!

I get so confused on this too. I had everything figured out, or at least i thuoght I did. The girl took my $15.96 ECB and said she had to adjust it down to $15.05. Then she said I still owed her .38? I asked why and she said "I really have no idea" Manager was standing right there and said it had something to do with tax. She was nice enough to tell me that I could go pick something up for $1.00 and that way I would loose some of my ECB. Manager said then she would have to void out and ring stuff up again. I told her thanks but it really wasn't a big deal. I still walked out with $15 in ECB's but tax is so confusing!!
