I am new to shopping CVS, only a couple weeks into it. So far, I'm loving it! But I do have a ? about what my receipt says. I bought 2 of the CVS pain relief that ends up being free after the ECB. On my receipt it says,

Quantity toward this reward 2
Quantity needed to earn reward 1

What does the 'needed to earn reward' mean? What will happen if I go buy another one??

yes you can buy another and get ECBs.You can buy a total of 5 for that deal.Then it will say quantity limit reached

quantity towards reward = means how many you bought.
quantity needed to earn reward = means how many you have to buy to get the reward.

So what is the reward? The ECB??

in this case, ecb, but sometimes they give away something else as reward. like m&m piggy bank, bunch of health care items, etc.

I thought it was confusing at first, but I think it means more "Quantity left to max out deal" or something along those lines. You have already gotten the reward (ECB) with every CVS Pain relief.

That's what I thought too but it actually means quantity needed to earn another reward. When you have used all the rewards it says "limit reached".

But on the example above, she gets a reward for every single box of pain reliever- she doesn't have to buy X number in order to get the reward.

Yes she does get an ECB for every box she buys up to 5. But she does actually have to purchase the box. The reason for the "qantity needed to earn reward: 1" is just telling you that you only have to buy one bottle and not 2 or 3 or $15 worth.

If the offer was buy 3 earn XX and you only bought one then the line "qanity needed to earn reward" would read 2 because you still had to purchse 2 more in order to get your ECB to print.
