Is this allowed? (using certain coupons) Yesterday I was using up the last of my 5/15. Got all CVS brand products so I could use the cvs 2/10. The cashier (who isn't very nice) said I'd have to spend $25 to use both and told me in a not very nice manner that you "barely spent $15". Of course, I don't want to stack and want do the right thing so would I have been doing something considered wrong? I'd read that others have done the same so thought it was fine to do.

It's usually one of those YMMV things. Some stores do, some don't. With the new wording that came on the $/$$ I just got in e-mail, it seems like we won't even be able to use both even if we did spend $25. (It says one $/$$ per transaction) I'm assuming it's still going to be different on a store by store basis. Honestly I usually just flat out ask the cashier at the desk when I come in. Something like, 'How does this work, can I use both if some of my items are CVS as long as I have $10 and then $15 total.' Same thing when we had the beauty coupon. I figure it's better to know so then I can adjust my shopping in the store instead of getting a surprise when I pay. Last edited by carlsonfour; 04-01-2008 at 12:47 PM. Reason: typo

while it is a YMMV we do not encourage "stacking"~~~you should be able to split up your order to use the coupons individually if you had to~~i.e. if you have a $4/$20 and a $5/$15 coupon your total order should be at $35 for you to use both of those coupons.

I ask here too. I have been told I have to spend the total of all combined coupons. So I would spend $25. The computer would not beep if you have only spent $15 though. I usually do big orders and have a combined total of $60. I used (until yesterday ) the 5/15,3/15,4/20,&2/10. I know I could do even better if I broke it up more but toting around 4 kids, I am willing to sacrifice a couple of bucks for less trips. I usually still leave spending less than $4, always get things I need that aren't on sale as well, and never loose my ecb's.

If they were both CVS x/xx non-CVS brand then yes you could not stack unless you spent $25. If the one was a 2/10 CVS brand then you should have been able to use it. I have used a 2/10 CVS brand CRT w/ the 5/15 Q w/o any prob. They told me that CVS store Qs are diff then the x/xx. If a Q is ever refused by a cashier I ask for the mgr to clarify. Some cashiers have told me out flat that the policy has changed so much in the last 30 days it is hard to keep up!

I consider the 2/10 cvs like a manufacture coupon. I know that it isn't but I figure it is cvs's way of trying to get you to try there product and for us couponers we can sometimes get namebrand for less then cvs using manu coupons. This way we buy the cvs and use the coupon. I don't consider this stacking but I guess that is a matter of opnion.

One store says I have to buy $25 in items if I wanted to use the $5 off $15 and and $3 off $10 cvs brand. But the other store the shift manager did it no problem.

I'm pretty sure if I'd checked out with another cashier it would have been fine because they are two completely different coupons, but this particular cashier isn't very nice.
