I have my eye on several items that are currently 50% in store, does anyone know a particular day that CVS Management usually does markdowns? I would REALLYYY like to buy all this baby stuff when it hits 75%. Thanks guys!

I was wondering the same thing. I asked a cashier at one of the stores I go to and she said that it depends on the manager. I find that hard to believe because all the cvs' around me seemed to put the same stuff on clearance at the same time.

It varies. In my experience it's Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Stinks that it's not consistent at every store.

I've asked at a couple of different stores and was told on Mondays and Tuesdays also.

It's generally Mondays. If you want to check. Just go look at other clearance tags. It has te date it went clearance. Look up that date and you should see a trend.

i think the diapers are being clearanced every 7 days - as they went 50% off 7 days after 25% off - you are right there is a little tiny date on the clearance tag

I was told by my store manager once. I asked regarding the Easter stuff.
She told me they are on a two week cycle.
So at least for holiday stuff it would work like this

Day after the holiday marked down to 50%
Two weeks later marked down to 75%
Two weeks later if anything left it's marked down to 90%

I would assume the two week rule would apply for regular clearance as well, and like other posters have said, likely to be changed on Sunday's or Monday's.

there are 2 cvs and 3 walgreeens in my town. Each store has a very different markdown. What is marked down at one store may be a month or two before the other folllows. I have been told i was up to each store and whether they have room to keep it on the shelf at full price. the denim diapers for example art all still price.,items may have a clearence tag below but are still full price.so frustrating!

Talked to my store manager today. He said they are also on a two week cycle. He did say that there have been certain instances where the markdowns happened earlier than two weeks though. My idea is to go by and scan just to be sure!

My CVS stores put the items that were 50% off yesterday at 75% today (Monday). I bought diapers yesterday and they were still 50%. Today I went back because I had another $3/10 coupon and the wipes were at 75% off. Yay!

The huge packs (320-260 per pack) of sensitive and unscented (the only kinds they had left). On Sunday at my 'regular' store some of the big packs (I think the regular Unscented) were at 50% off and the other packs were at 25% off. I went to a different store yesterday (Monday) and the shelf stickers were the same. I picked up the last pack of the Unscented and one pack of Sensitive thinking that would have me hit my $10 total I needed to use the coupon...but when I got to the register they all rang up as $2.44 each.

I ended up getting 2 packs of Sensitive wipes (320 count), 1 pack of Unscented (360 count), and an extra soft pack that wasn't even on sale (could have found something else I guess but I was in a hurry). I used my $3/10 CVS coupon plus a $5 ECB (perfectly happy to burn CVS money on something I needed!) and only spent $2.82 OOP for 1072 wipes.

Oh! Sorry. CVS brand. Those are the only ones that are deeply discounted and I assume that was what the OP was referring to.

Talked to my Cvs store manager about this it depends once they start clearancing it can go for several weeks each mark down its done alot of time by corporate each Monday the store manager is supposed to activate the clearance in the computer some times they do right away and some times they don't alot of times they as a store are too busy with other things some time it gets activated but they hadn't had time to put up the tags that is why you find alot of unmarked clearance items. If something u know should be clearence and really want it asked the manager that is how I got alot of the pampers boxes few months back they were still ringing up full price but were supposed to be 75% off but they hadnt activated the clearance cause they were busy doing a reset in make up at the time

At one of my stores nothing goes on clearance unless the product is being discontinued by either the store or manufacturer, or it is a leftover seasonal item. Yet at the other store ten minutes away I can usually find the same clearance items everyone posts about here.

I guess it depends on each store my store didn't have any wipes clearances but some diapers at 25 some at 50 and some at 75 so it's really if you just get lucky I guess

It depends on the manager. My stores are on a 2 week cycle so when I see 75% posted online, I check the following week. My mark downs activate on Wednesday but other CVS stores have been know to mark down sooner. Finding clearance is part luck and part diligence.

I went to the two CVS stores near me on Monday, one had 75% tickets up with a date of 6/17 which was Sunday and the other store still had 50% off tags but everything rang 75%!! The CVS brand diapers and wipes, Huggies overnight sz 4, Huggies slip on (biggest bag) sz 3, Aveeno diaper rash cream all 75% off.....yay!!!

Now that I know about the dates on the tags, and the general 2 week cycle, I can track it MUCH easier!! Thanks for all the input!

This was certainly true for my stores. One manager ALWAYS had items on clearance and the others said they were just too busy to mark down items. Lately, no one has had clearances and I asked about it. The manager told me their District Manager told them "no more clearances" at his stores, so they all stopped!
