Saw the ad a little bit ago from Walmart going after CVS about how much cheaper their items were vs CVS. Not too long along ago in the NC market, Walmart went after a local grocery chain here also. Some have said they are seeing these type ads in other locations.

Walmart will never get me away from CVS on several points - customer service, ECBs, Red machine, etc. CVS would have to start going to pot like Wm, before I would switch.

I am seeing that ad, too. It refers to any drugstore and actually mentioned Walgreens. I agree CVS is my go to store, too.

Interesting that ours mentioned CVS in particular. I guess they have different ones for different areas.

I heard a radio ad for Walmart today comparing themselves to our local big grocery chain -Giant.

I think Walmart is finally starting to realize that they aren't the end all be all store they think they are. People have other options, and will use those other options rather than deal with them. I know Walmart isn't going out of business or anything like that, but I do think that they're starting to feel the sting of their customer service, dirty stores etc. I'm a cvs girl always. I only go to Walmart if I NEED something and I know it's not on sale somewhere else, because if something is on sale somewhere else, it's usually cheaper than Walmart.

I totally agree with all of you. I am a CVS girl. I have had exponentially less problems at CVS than at walmart. I've been to walmart maybe 3 times in the past 12 months. I go to cvs atleast weekly.

I think they are desperate IMO
They have a commercial out against Publix and I just laugh at it...ever since I started couponing at Publix, I have no desire to ever go to Wal-mart...I used to go to that ridiculous store every week but now its maybe once a month. I HATE Wally World.
I'll choose CVS and Publix over any Wal-mart, any day!

Walmart must not know the amazing things we can do at CVS. If they want to be competitive they better start issuing store coupons. If they want to compare to local stores, they need to start doubling Q's. I hate Walmart, only shop there if a coupon makes something free.

Im the same. I avoid Wal-Mart because its always drama at the checkout!

Last time I shopped at WalMart my coupons shut down the register! Lol!! We had to stand there like 10 minutes and wait for it to reboot... That poor cashier.

To me, the sad part is, Walmart (in this ad at least) does not seem to be giving any credit to educated consumers/coupon users. They are certainly attracting business from the people who never use coupons and never shop at CVS or the likes of it.

They still haven't really figured out how to be competitive.

I had the strangest dream last night. I went to Walmart, which I never do, and was telling everybody shopping that Target and CVS are cheaper and they need to leave this store. I got kicked out though. I am 100% anti-Walmart, no matter if they are cheaper or not. I will pay double before I go there. I had to share since I had that crazy dream.

Also I have not heard these comercials yet I will have to listen for one.

like stated above - if you don't coupon walmart is cheaper - i was looking for a sun canopy the other day and came across a display of banana boat sun block - they had it priced at $5.89 cvs reguler price is 11.xx and rite aids price is 9.99 so clearly if you have no coupons and don't follow sales walmart will offer the lowest price.

BUT i do coupon and do follow sales so walmart is not for me (except for the sun canopy!)

I reallly wish I lived in a larger city that gives you options....the ONLY stores in my area within a 30 mile radius are Kroger, Walmart, ONE Rite Aid and 3 CVS'.

I do shop at Walmart...but only because they price match and I can use ads from stores out of our area.......I get everything I can at CVS tho....and mostly groceries at Walmart......I HATE Walmart.......

My CVS is coupon friendly and shopping their sales I always save money but I have been hassled the last few times I shopped at wm. The cashiers don't take the time to read the coupons and they don't know the difference between a purchase and a transaction. I have to educate them.

They have been running these for a while. In Orlando they compare themselves to Publix. And if you are NOT buying what Publix has on sale then you will definitely save a lot by going to Walmart. The ONLY way I shop at Publix is it has to be on sale and I have to have at least one coupon. Otherwise I would not set foot in Publix they are so over priced just like CVS and Walgreens.

Honestly, why does WalMart even need to advertise? Is there really one person on the face of the earth that doesn't know who they are and what they're about? It's going to be a sad day when they're the monopoly and we're all forced to shop there.
