| Can I return the Clearsil Perfecta Kit?
I bought 2 Clearsil Perfecta Kits tonight and both rang up as $19.99, I didnt realize it until the end of her scanning all my coupons and I didn't want to say anything because there was already a line! I thought the BOGO 50% off deal was still going. I had the BOGO q and a $2/1 q...she scanned the BOGO q but the $2/1 coupon didn't go through because she said that I already used a BOGO q and can't use another coupon. Since I used a BOGO q, can I still return 1 of them and get $20 back? I also bought other things and used my ECB's and my total came out to $21.08. |

I think that if you returned one, it would have to be the one that was $9.99. If you paid with extra bucks/coupons, they should return your money on a money card.

| They both came out to be $19.99 each instead of 1 for $19.99 and the other for $9.99...$21.08 was my OOP after using my ecb's and coupons for everything else

| Yah, I wish the $2 would have went through tho, I know it should have because I have used a coupon with a BOGO before with no problem

OP--Even though it is ok to return according to CVS policy, you may get some negative feedback from the store for it. They could make it difficult or they could think you are doing something shady and you would be under scrutiny any time you are at that store. It isnt right that they might do that I just want you to be aware of that possibility. Only you know how that will make you feel and affect you in the future but I am guessing you might not handle that well at all based on the fact that you realized what had happened and didnt want to deal with the hassle of fixing it right then and there and you also didnt stand your ground about the $ with a BOGO coupon. I am guessing you shy away from conflict. In summation, yes you can return the one and you should receive store credit for it but you might get hassled every time you are in that CVS if the employees dont understand the return from your perspective. |

If I do take both back and explain what happened, will this affect my CVS account? Or just with this specific store and the employer there? Will this affect my shopping w/ coupons at CVS or just when I do returns? I'd hate to mess w/ my CVS account over something I should have taken care of right then...this is definitely a lesson learned. |

It won't effect your CVS account or card in any way except the total of what you return will be deducted from your beauty club tally. No big deal.

There is nothing wrong with being conflict adverse! You are probably even happier overall for it. ![]() What you are asking about is 100% ok, morally and with CVS policy. Unfortunately sometimes people dont understand the whole issue even if you explain it...it is those kinds of people that you might encounter an issue with. Think about how many times you have seen a post with someone complaining that a cashier wouldnt allow something that is allowable under CVS policy. If you generally have problems using coupons at that particular store, then I would anticipate it is likely that they might just make things difficult in the future for you...questioning coupons, not allowing usage unless you get CS to intervene on your behalf, etc.. But if the staff there is generally pleasant and helpful and more importantly they seem to have common sense then I would expect explaining the situation and asking if you may do a return should be fine. I would probably leave it as 'I thought the item was still on sale and after I looked at my receipt I realized it wasnt' rather than a full explanation. I would also add that 'since I used coupons and ECBs on this transaction that I know it is CVS policy to issue the return via gift card and I am fine with that'. You arent doing anything wrong and if you are treated poorly for it they are 100% in the wrong and you would have a very valid reason for complaint...it is just that in your initial post you seemed to want to avoid conflict and I wanted you to understand that if you do this return, even though you have every right to do the return, you may encounter more conflict in the future. Good luck and let us know what you decide and what happens! |

. OP, I'd second what Monkeydawn said, and just mentioned you thought they were still on sale, but it turned out they weren't, and therefore you'd like to return, at least one, if possible. I understand the feeling when a deal didn't turn out as you expected. Good luck!

Monkeydawn said it all! The OP thought her transaction would look like this: $19.99 $9.99 - $19.99 - $2 Total: $7.99 for two Instead it looked like this: $19.99 $19.99 - $19.99 Total: $19.99 - $12 more than she had planned to pay for 2 For people who are questioning the moral aspect, what the OP is asking is in no way morally wrong. There is no reason for her to not return it. Although she would end up with some store credit, she should not have to keep the kit and pay $12 more than she wanted to because of couponing.

As far as the common sense goes...I would much prefer a cashier or manager that is willing to listen to an issue and think about it and then make a decision, even if occasionally it goes against my interest as long as the decision is based on some sort of thought process. I have about 7 people that I expect will do that between all the staff at all the RAs, CVSs and Wags I go to. I treat them like GOLD. Quote:

I would go in and show your receipt and say I have a question. Explain the way you thought it would work and how it ended up. Tell them you would like to return them both. You will have lost the coupon but my cvs gives it all back on a cvs card. If you get a hassle just tell them never mind that you didn't want to be any trouble, but that sometimes the deals a bit confusing. Good luck!

Their return policy says they will take it back, therefore, take it back. As long as it wasn't opened, etc., there shouldn't be a problem. They will refund whatever the receipt says and they refund the amount of the coupon as well. Don't feel bad about returning stuff. The only issue you will have is if you would do this on a regular basis, if for example, you are returning stuff 3x a week and getting cash back for coupons at some point your account might be flagged. But don't be afraid, embarrassed, etc., to take it back.

You also have the possibility of returning it to a CVS you don't frequent much. This will save face at your favorite cvs store!

| Not true. The bogo Q should take off the 19.99 not the 9.99 which was store special. I did this deal and cashier took off the 19.99 not the 9.99. It was the manager who checked me out.

19.99 9.99 -19.99 making them both 9.99 she got charged 19.99 each because they were no longer on half price sale, so with the b1g1 she was charged 19.99, which is not what she was aiming for. |

| yea, most store do only allow the lesser amount for free. cvs just happens to be one that you can score some really great deals!

| Yes. If cvs has a b1g1 50% sale and you use a b1g1 coupon then full price amount will be taken off and you will pay for the 50% item

I did the return and I actually took it to ANOTHER CVS store that I don't regularly go to as someone mentioned earlier (thanks!). I explained to the cashier what happened and the cashier said since I used a BOGO q, she'll have to get the manager..the manager looked at it and asked if I received any ECB's, I said no. He was about to take both back and give me $40 cash...I asked if I could just keep 1 and receive a refund for the other. He was fine with it and gave me $21 cash back. He was very nice about it and didn't seemed to be bothered at all. Thank goodness, I was nervous |
