Oh monkeydawn, that is terrible!!!!! Every single part of that story is awful customer service, awful human decency. You absolutely need to follow up with CS. I have never been outsourced when calling CVS CS. Is there someone who could help you call? I hope your letter was great and you get a good response. Don't give up on CVS because of this, you are so important to our community! Keep us updated! I can't emoticon from here but I am sending you huge hugs!!

This deal was before my "time" as a couponer but I heard about it. Sounds like I missed a great deal! On another board I'm on a lady had a rain check for 100 of them. Her manager took the rain check and she contacted corporate. They contacted her and had her go into the store, the mgr offered her buy the CVS brand shave gell at 1.49 and get 4.00 ecb back. She got almost 300 ecb from that deal! |

My RC is for 100. I know the cashier who wrote it so I don't think I'll have any issue redeeming her. Her signature is very legible so it's clear who it is. Please let us know what customer service says when they reply. Managers confiscating anything (coupons, RC) never sits well with me.

I will update. Part of me feels that I might have had less trouble at the store that wrote the RC. I was in that store yesterday and there were only 8. I wanted to buy 16 in order to set me up with ECBS to do the gas deal Sunday. There is only one other CVS in the area I was in yesterday. That CVS has told me that they will no honor any RC written for more than 4 items, I believe I have typed about them before. Since I was heading that other way to go to a particular grocery store and there are about 10 CVS in that area I just thought I would do it all today. I figured since RCs are good at any CVS that it wouldnt be any big deal, particularly after the posts this am. BTW, one of the issues that I had forgot to mention earlier was the lack of event code. The other issues were repeated over and over soI kind of forgot about that. If anyone has a photo that they have taken of the 7 oz Skintimate, preferably at the $3.89 price point, I would really appreciate it. I would like an undoctored photo (with no website credit on it). Just it case it comes down to me needing proof. |

| Yes, at the store that issued the rainchecks to me. The shelf tag read limit of 100, but I did not get a raincheck for that many. I do know one person tho who did get a raincheck for 100 and when she was redeeming it, her card became inactive due to "too many transactions". If that's what it's called~

I am curious about something. CVS policy says you have to redeem a rain check in it's entirety so if someone has a RC for 100 are they expected to get all 100 at a time?

I am curious about what would have happened if I had tried to redeem the RC at the store that wrote it. As I believe I typed above, the store that wrote it did not have sufficient quantities to do what I had wanted to do. I wanted at least 16, that store only had 6. I was planning on doing 4 transactions and I had expected that I would need to split them between stores because I didnt expect one store to have the 16 I needed. There were no other stores near the store that wrote the RC and since I was in the other area and they have about a dozen CVS I thought I would try my luck around there. Well there is one other store that is around the store that wrote the RC but they have made it clear in the past that they will not redeem a RC that is written for more than 4 items. That is another issue I will address with CS if I hear back from them. Quote:
I was prepared to buy all the stock that store had and was going to request a RC for the remaining quantities that their stock could not fulfill. I was planning on dividing the purchases into three transactions. I feel that would have been fair because if the store had the items at the time of the promotion I would have been allowed to split the transactions. I was prepared to use the rain check in full as much as store stock would allow me to do so, if that was a condition of use. I had more coupons than the minimum of 16 I wanted to buy, I just needed the 16 to set me up for my transactions on Sunday. Anything beyond the 16 would have been MMer and fine by me I was just going to stop chasing them once I hit 16. I was also prepared to leave some at a store if the store requested that I not buy all of them. This would have caused me to make extra trips but I would have been fine with it. Basically my plan was to get at least 16 of the items while being as courteous as possible to other shoppers but still abiding by the spirit of the RC. I hope that makes sense. Your comment does bring up an interesting hypothetical though...suppose I had a RC for 4 items with two $/2 CRTs attached. Let us say that the store has 3 items in stock. Should I be allowed to buy 2 of the items and use one $/2 and get another RC for 2? Or should I be forced to buy 3 or none at all? If the CRTs arent referred to as part of the deal on the RC (mine never are, just stapled to the back) and the deal is per item not /2, then I should be forced to buy 3 or none. That doesnt seem very fair but it follows that logic. I would hope that all cashiers would see the inherent unfairness in that and allow me to just buy 2and get a rc for the remaining 2. |

When I went to do this deal, the manager was out so the cashier did not want to let me do it. I am old friends with the manager so the cahsier wrote me the rainchecks and told me to just take the tag with me. I actually still have the tag in my possession . The event code on my raincheck, dated 1/30/12, is 10554758.

I was holding out hope that I would hear from CS before Sunday. That is seems unlikely now. I had the slim hope that if I heard back before Sunday that I might be able to enact my plan from Thursday.

I just got off the phone with the district manager and I am completely unsatisfied with how this was handled. After twice requesting that communications be via email because of my hearing disability I was told to call. So I call and am told that it must have been a mistake to issue the RC for 100 and he is mailing me a RC for 10. Well he gave me the option of picking it up or mailing it. After I again expressed my humiliation at the way I was treated he apologized on their behalf. He really sounded ok with how everything happened though and it seems like if I want to shop in that district that I should just be prepared to accept whatever treatment I am given. Corporate CS just kicked the problem to the local level so they were no help. I am so incredibly disappointed. |

![]() That REALLY sucks! Not that you want to do this but I think you could complain to rep for the Disabilities Act. I would consider writing another letter about overall customer service. Forgetting about the RC, the fact that the store employees were so terrible to you and then the DM didn't even respect your disability enough to oblige your email request or to meet with you in person. The whole situation stinks of disrespect and lack of concern for customers. You are totally expendable in the situation. I would never shop in that district again!

As far as the discrimination thing goes, unfortunately that is something I have dealt with my whole life. Hearing loss is one of those disabilities that is socially accepted as ok to discriminate against. From movie theaters to insurance companies there is no real protection offered to those with hearing disabilities. |

I'm really sorry OP. I remember this deal and it was ymmv every step of the way. CVS pulled the deal the next day and then it started again the following week and then was pulled again. The $4 ecbs were for the razors or that was how it was interpreted by most stores and the $4 ecbs continued to print for the razors just not the shaving cream. I remember some were getting the ecbs to print because the sign was still up but not all stores were honoring because corporate sent a memo/email deal was in error. Some were able to get rain checks for a few or 100 but all was ymmv since not all stores were honoring the deal. This would have been a great deal and I'm sorry CVS didn't treat you better. As a loyal customer they should have at least treated you with respect. Even if they said that deal was in error and a rain check shouldn't have been given. It angers me that stores will call someone a liar and use fraud and they don't have all the facts. I really hope you don't give up on CVS. Maybe a discussion with corporate about the treatment by both the store level and corporate level.

I sit here a week later with no raincheck as promised. I do know there was a holiday in between but for local mail it should have been here. I was able to mail some items out on behalf of a local rescue group for an event I am hosting and I have already received responses back from a few people. So it has had more than enough time to get here. Between this issue and the Schick deal (Need advice on a return) I am really becoming disgruntled with the way CVS CS is handling problems.

I just sent this reply to the original CS rep: I just wanted to update you. I heard from Craig two days after your last response. He emailed to tell me to call him so we could discuss the issue. I am not sure why he needed me to call because it seemed that his mind was made up that the offer was an error and his resolution was to mail out a rain check for a lesser quantity. We verified my mailing address. There are two problems with this resolution. The first being I havent received this raincheck over a week later. The second issue I have is the blatant disregard for my hearing disability and my request that communications be via email. I have no hope that Craig cares at all about retaining me as a customer and I am really disappointed in the way this matter has been handled by CVS. Side note: Is anyone else annoyed at the two 'words' that you have to input into so many on line forms to help keep spamming down? I am not annoyed that I have to enter them so much as the fact that they arent real words. They always look funky and are hard to read. At first I thought I must not be seeing them correctly because they werent words I recognized. It took me getting one with a number in it before I realized they werent meant to be real words. I am slow sometimes. |

Well, I have another update. In today's mail I received a rc, mailed out on Saturday per the stamp cancellation. Two days after I emailed CS again and 9 days after I was told I would get one. The rc is dated before Saturday but still a week after when I was told it would be given. The note that accompanied it simply said (Name), Rain check fro store #XXXX, Store Manager No apology, no explanation for the delay. Also no response from CS (about the delay or the disregard for my disability). RC amount was for 10--90 less than the deal was for but what the district manager 'thought the sale was supposed to be for'. Has anyone gotten bad service resolution from CS and their district manager then complained to another CS rep and been happy with the result from that? I am to the point where I am really angry about how this has been handled by CVS and I am wondering if I should pursue it or just try to let it go because following up on it will just be more upsetting. |

I would research the Americans with Disabilities Act. I know it is drastic but my FIL once had a problem with a store not allowing to use a restroom. He is a two time colon cancer survivor and can't always control his bowels. He mentioned it to the ADA rep at work. The complaint was taken very seriously, the store practically gave him a set of keys. I realize that isn't that isn't what you want but I think it is despicable customer service and should be reported. IMO, the DM has no regard for you and took advantage of your disability to not give you proper customer service.
