Lucky you! I know some states don't charge tax on medicine and medical stuff, unfortunately in CA we have to cough up the tax for everything except food and non-carbonated drinks.... ;(

unfortunately, this is one of those meters that don't come with starter strips. they can afford to give away the meters so the buyer will be forced to buy their overpriced strips the FARR meters with strips is a much better buy and ready to use.

Bayer meters and the WAG true result meters (free after MIR) come with 10 starter strips so its still a good buy (for free) just for the strips. Many areas do not accept meter donations anymore, they prefer strips which no one seems to be donating
