I had contacted Viggle's customer service for clarification and this is their response:

"Thanks for writing.

You get 1 point per minute for every show you are checked into.

When you check into shows, the points will be given when the show ends, they do not appear immediately.

You can only be checked into one show at a time. If you check into a second show before the first show is over, you will stop getting points for the first show at that time and begin getting points for the second one.

In order to receive bonus points, you must watch the show for at least 10 minutes.

You can also get points by viewing ads, videos and movie trailers within Viggle. Please know that the point values and number of times you can view an ad vary based upon advertising partner.

That is correct. Check in at anytime during the show and in order to receive bonus points, you must watch the show for at least 10 minutes. After 10 min just checking into another bonus show to get more points.

Love Viggle, been using for almost 3 weeks and have earned $30 Cvs gc! I usually just try and check into all the bonus shows. Not sure if it's been mentioned but FYI the Viggle website has a blog that lists all the bonus shows by time everyday. I find it useful.

Thanks for the heads up! Just redeemed for two cards. Usually the link goes directly to the certificate to print. This time, however, it is asking for my security code to access the certificate. Does anybody know what this is?

You can go to your profile in viggle and then click on the icon with lines and bullets and you'll see rewards history as an option. Tap on that and it'll show you your redemptions with the security code for each.
