I can't believe I've never done one of these type of deals at CVS where you get an item free for buying $XX worth of other items, but I haven't. I would like to do the Wisk deal this week but don't know how it works! Does a CRT coupon print for free Wisk after meeting the $20 threshold, or do I need to have the Wisk in the same transaction as the qualifying products, and then it will ring up free? And if it's the latter, does the $20 of qualifying products have to be all in one transaction or does it track and I would put the Wisk in the last transaction? The ad doesn't tell us ANYTHING. TIA.

Judging by how it was with the buy $30 baby stuff get stroller free- you'd have to all in one transaction and wisk along with them would adjust to free. But i have not tried it.

Last weeks deal it had to be done in one transaction and you put the free item in the transaction.

I agree, I do believe all items would need to be rang up in a single transaction in order to hit the limit for the Wisk to be deducted.

All in one transaction and you have to be at or above the minimum amount specified. It's not like ECB deals where you can be "close" to the required $ amount. Last week I was a .25 away on the Cottonelle deal and had to add another box of Kleenex to get over $30 before the tp would zero out. The good news is that it comes off during the same transaction so you don't have to hang onto a coupon or get back in line to purchase the free item, etc.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone have a good scenario for the wisk deal?

All items have to be in the same transaction. It doesn't track. I did this sunday by buying 11 reach toothbrushes. I have 11 1/1 coupons. so it ended up costing me 6.98 for everything. I also had a 4/20 coupon.

I did the whisk deal and used the $2 coupon and the cashier let me. It's an awesome deal! I bought 3 Scott TP for 6.99 each, used 4/20 and 3 $1 off Scotts and the $2 off wisk.

Sorry....but I am NOT excited about the spend $xx...get a FREE item.....first of all....unless you get a SUPER deal on the other items...you are actually paying for it...and...I can make a cash card go WAY farther than a bottle of Wisk.....

Last time I bought Wisk at CVS.......I had bought coupons from Ebay and I spent....like $2 or less per bottle.....so in my mind......this deal is not worth it.......

Just like a few weeks ago...spend $xx...get 2 boxes of CEREAL???? Are they crazy?

They SURELY know that most of us get our cereal for less than $2/box???

I did this deal last night and my cashier would not let me use a wisk coupon. In fact, he never even scanned the Wisk. He said he was told not to scan the free item. I thought the Wisk would come off at the end of the transaction? How do they keep track of their inventory if they don't even scan the free items?

Yeah I agree, I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to these deals but I'm thinking unless you are getting REALLY REALLY good deals on the items that you are purchasing to get the free item it's not worth it unless of course you really need the item at the moment and that's the best deal you can find.

Usually the things I get at CVS are free or almost free. I check periodically to see if anyone is talking about one of these new deals being really good but so far nothing. I was just getting into couponing when they were still doing the cash cards so I never even did any of those besides the free MP3 players. Hope they do them again, everyone seems to say they were great!

they did it wrong. Definitely supposed to scan the item, and you should be able to use a coupon on it as well.

I didn't want to argue, so I said add another Sparkle. THEN, he refused to take my ECBs to pay for the transaction because he said I would not actually be paying $20, so the wisk couldn't be free!! I politely tried to explain the ECBs are like paying cash, but he kept saying no. I just paid $21 and walked out. This was a different CVS 2 hours from home and I wasn't in the mood for an argument! Has anyone else been told they HAVE to pay $20 to get the wisk?

Nope. I paid $15.XX after Qs & got my Wisk. As soon as you ring up $20 of merchandise + the Wisk, all the cashier has to do it hit "total" for the Wisk to change to $0.00 in the register. Then you can scan your Qs as usual.

I was sure this was the way it "should" work, but these days I have trouble with coupon usage on even simple things. The cashiers all seem to be out to mess up my savings. Oh well, I still have my ECBs to use next time.
