| CVS EBs With RXs?
I haven't used CVS to fill RX's for yrs. Our old insurance, we paid the same co-pay no matter where we filled the RX's, and other pharmacys were closer to my house. Anyway, I thought I remembered you got a (quarterly) EB ($1) for every 2 RX's you filled. I was wondering if there is a limit (monthly? quarterly? in general?). I asked at the pharmacy and they weren't sure. Figured AFCers might know. ;o) TIA for any help.

There is no limit that I'm aware of. I, personally, have not filled more than a handful of prescriptions in a quarter but I've never heard of anyone reaching a limit and there's a couple people on here that get bunches and bunches filled at CVS on a regular basis. Also, if you're bringing new or transferred prescriptions to CVS - see if you can get one of those pharmacy coupons (i.e. $25 giftcard for new or transferred rx) from another store (check FSOT, they're up there all the time). CVS doesn't print it's own but will accept ALL competitors pharmacy coupons. |

Trust me if there is a limit I have not found it and I get anywhere from 8 to 12 filled per month (diabetic & other issues). Also make sure you bring in a reusable bag and have one of their "green bag tags" so that you can get ECB's for using the bag ($ 1.00 for every 4 scans and they print after the 4th use).

| Unfortunately this doesn't apply to NY and NJ because we have some strange state laws the prohibit incentives for RX.

Thanks, everyone, for the prompt responses; sorry I didn't reply immediately; I have not been on the internet for a couple of days. The girl in the pharmacy dept. said she thought the max might be $30. per quarter (= 60 RX's) but she wasn't sure. The other girl didn't know what I was talking about. Thanks, Robbo, for the info on the transferred RX's & GC deal, but since we've moved to TX, DH gets his RX's filled through Medicare (as where before, it was through a private inausrance; nothing to do with Medicare; and you can't get the GC's when it is filled through a government agency. When we were in NJ, I used to take advantage of Target's transferred GC deal all the time. It was only $10. per RX, but there wasn't a limit; so 20 RX's equalled $200.00; not too bad. (Rite Aid used to have $25. per RX, but the limit was 4; and I think CVS had a limit on the GC's as well; was it 2? With CVS, it was really hard to find them, as where with Target & RA, it was never hard to get the q's.) Unfortunately, DH has around 20 RX's per month , so if they don't limit them, it will come in handy. Thanks again everyone!

P.S. ~ Forgot to say; thanks for the info on using the green bag tag when picking them up; I had it ready to give, and the girl was ahead of me, asking for it before I even got to hand it over. But thanks for mentioning it as well!
