I got a $3 off $10 cosmetic purchase today from the machine and asked if it could be applied towards Burts Bees and the mngr said "absolutelty". WOO HOO!! Had a $5 ECB plus my $3 Q and got the Burts Bee's Spot Treatment ($9.99) and after taxes only paid $2 and change!! YIPPEE!! I am new to CVS as we just got one in my town a couple of months ago, but I am really loving them lately... Just had to share my excitement. |

I'm new and I hope this is appropriate for me to ask, but if the deal is $3 off $10 cosmetic how does a product that is 9.99 qualify? Is it because they are including tax? Thank you.

| A lot of times you will find that at CVS close is good enough. Stores coupons are usually taken if the amount is within a few cents. You will also find that your Ecb's will usually print when you are close to the amount also.

![]() One of the many, many reasons I love CVS. "Close enough" can be pretty loose, too |

I could be wrong, but I always thought cosmetics and skin care are two different area, and the only thing from Burt's Bees that I can remember CVS carries that can be called cosmetic is probably the tinted lip gloss?? my stores here would have interpreted it this way anyway.

I always feel our stores here are run with a "split personality"-- the managers are generally very coupon friendly, but the cashiers, esp. 45+ females (sorry about the profiling, but can't help it since it's so obvious!) look at every coupon with a magnifying glass, even those ones that work there since forever. Guess they really intend to work there forever, so they are extra careful in taking coupons. I do not want to go to the managers every time there's a slight dispute, so I always expect the worst when planning my transactions. I try to avoid these types of cashiers as much as possible, but my schedule means an encounter with them is almost inevitable... On the side of the friendly managers: my 24hr beauty manager will go to all length to tape any possible coupons out there (inserts, IP, cvs Q.. anything) to the products. So I know there's a $2 MQ (from tear pads) for the Burt's Bees Acne Solutions, and it includes the Targeted Spot Treatment. It doesn't expire until 12/31/11. It doesn't hurt to ask your beauty manager if they have any if you're interested in getting this. |
