| One of our members (Marygod1234) originally posted these rules in another thread and I thought it might be a good idea to see what areas these are effecting~~ PLEASE POST IF YOU'VE ENCOUNTERED THIS NEW SYSTEM IN YOUR AREA~~ ALL CVS Printable Coupons, Mfg. Coupons are tracked by your Extra Care Card Number. A CVS Coupon can become VOID/Unusable at anytime or limited to (1) one each per cardholder, ExtraCare Card, or household "coupon limit has been reached" register software program has resently been installed/updated in some CVS regions. It will limit your card to using 1, 2, 3 etc etc of same coupon in a 24, 48 or 72 hr time frame (this includes CVS Product Coupons, Diabetes Handbook Coupons). The program can restrict $2, $3, $4, $5, $10, $15 off in a quantity or time frame. (If like value coupons are used the register may add $ instead of subtracting because the $ off has reached the limit). A lead cashier, duty manager or anyone with the correct coding on their key card can over-ride just about anything this software tries to block or restrict. How the program works: its usually set at three per card @ 24 hrs. (its a full 24 hrs) but it can be set to any parameter the regional manager wants. There is also a transaction # that can be set to allow like coupons to be used by manual code or barcode. (If CVS has 2 $2/$10 released the transaction will be set to 2 with different manual codes or barcodes) Transaction parameters also have a selection for regional. Another part of the program can be set to allow 1 cvs pharmacy product coupon and one mfg coupon. Certain $/$$ are not a CVS Pharmacy Product Coupon or even a $/$$, its a specialty coupon that is why it says Cannot be combined with other CVS Pharmacy Coupons but it can be used with mfg coupons. There is an over-ride option within the program to allow special coupons to be combined or not with other CVS Pharmacy Product Coupons, $/$$ Coupons or Special Coupons. Part of the program option can be set to allow a total purchase of $75 to use every $/$$ coupon that is in circulation (stacking) or not. Corporate policy is the total purchase must equal the combined value of the $$ portion of the $/$$ coupons. (u = usage, t = time, < = less than, > greater than) $X/XX u-3 x t-24 hrs product mfg coupons u-no limit x t-0 cvs product < $4.99 u-3 x t-24 cvs product > $5 but < $19.99 u-3 x t-72 hrs or longer cvs product > $20 but < $49.99 u-3 x t-72 hrs or longer cvs product > or equal to $50 u-1 x mgr key + t-72 hrs or longer cvs ecb coupon u-no limit x t-0 New ads start on Saturday 6 pm (regional selection) YES the coupons are tied to your CVS Extra Care Card. | Nothing noticed in FL ~ yet! But this would have stopped the Energizer $5 deal that last round. Remember the CVS coupon expired ON Sunday and Sunday started the B$15G$5. And I have been shopping like crazy the last few days ~ but no meters and I was rotating cards because I was trying to use up expired ECB's. |

| What I wrote was part of the Register Software Program (touchscreen-traditional) not rules written in stone. There are two types of registers touchscreen (has more programming options) and traditional (lucky if it scans your ExtraCare Card). The software program can be set from 1 to infinity with different parameters. If you have 10 stores within 20 miles each store can have its own settings or parameters combined with 10 different Managers, 1 or 2 district managers. There is NO absolute. Corporate issues guidelines wheither or not these guidelines are followed is decided by the store manager, district/regional manager, and vp sales marketing or any number of other employees higher up the corporate ladder. |

| thanks for the clarification~~I don't think there have ever been CVS rules/guidelines written in stone~~right now we're just trying to find out who has experienced this new Register Software Program in their area~~ |

| I didn't even get that far this morning the cashier said they were all informed that they were only permitted to except 1 cvs $/$ per customer. And this is a store I only stacked once in before X-Mas. I'll try another tonite and see how far I get. |

| I go to a CVS in a small town where a lot of the Amish community resides. It's a very small town. I"m hoping the changes don't affect my CVS. 8( |

So, if you have 2 different CVS cards.....you can't do 2 transactions using one $/$$ on each? |

| I asked a manager at CVS about this new "system" and the email coupons being tied to cards. He said he has not heard of any such thing. He also said that email coupons are in no way tied to your card. He said they are generic coupons sent out randomly (the reason why we don't all receive all coupons) and that the coupons from like the diabetes book especially will not be tied to the card because they are out in the open for everyone. He said the only logical explanation he can give for what the "new system" is going to be doing is that it will register that a coupon has been used with your card once you use it which will not allow you to use it again. But, he also said an easy way around that would be to have multiple cards. However, he did conclude with the doubtfulness that CVS would actually spend time/money on such a system. But, that is his opinion... just so you guys know. As far as anything changing here... nope. I was able to use the coupons 2ce each this week at 2 diff stores. |

| Its not a NEW system. Been in place for ages, some store managers like the sale $'s bonus. You can call customer care and if the person knows how to use the search mode they will tell you what coupons have been sent in an email, what special promotions you have received and what ECB's you have used or received. (you must have selected yes to receive promotions and coupons) Registers do not get the ability to scan barcodes, coupons and your Extra Care Card by osmosis, thought waves, radar waves, magnetic flux, the customer wearing a tin foil hat, AM FM radio frequency, or how brightly the stars shine or if its foggy and damp. It is all program/software driven. CVS is neither Burger King (Where You Get It Your Way), The Outer Limits (We (CVS) control the vertical, horizontal, brightness etc etc) or The Twilight Zone although I've seen some rather overly dressed gothic cashiers lately. Each Store is as different as grains of sand on a beach. |
