Yay! Worked for me!

Arrgghh! I went and picked mine up when they were ready, I was in a hurry to get home since it was dinnertime so I didn't even look at them just paid and left. When we looked at them at home we realized they were AWFUL! The pics had been cropped funny, the color was totally wrong! And the paper was super cheap. I have had things printed at Walgreens before but this is my first time for CVS. The paper is much better at walgreens, not to mention that I did it the exact same way (online order, pick up in store) and had no problems at walgreens. I took them back up to complain and the manager told me that the way they printed was the way they came across on their computer, that when you do 8 x10's it will crop them. I explained that online it never showed me a crop and on the one 5 x 7 I ordered the online view didn't look close to the same as what was printed. Not to mention that the RGB's were totally screwed. She refunded my money and told me if I bring a cd with the pics on it in the morning they will print them for 1/2 what I payed. I asked her 3 times if she was sure it would be 1/2 what I paid, since I already paid only 1/2, and she said yes. I guess I will try....but I am SO on the hunt for Walgreens picture codes now!

i have gotten many pictures made like this at cvs and never had a single problem..they all come out good. I wonder if someone at that cvs just does not know how to work the machine!

Sorry you had a bad experience..I get 8x10 made all the time they are hanging up my staircase..I have spoken to to tech at the photo lab about what a wonderful job they did..and she said its not the machine but the tech who actually checks the photos as they are being printed.

That makes me feel so much better! This may sound odd but I have such a love affair with CVS that it made me sad to think that there was something not awesome about it! I am headed up there this morning, so hopefully they will be awesome!

FYI....an 8x10 image from a camera always has to be cropped because the dimensions dont match up for an 8x10 based on what the camera takes. 5x7 or 10x14 will give you exactly whats on the screen of the camera or film. Some places are just better at proofing the images upon printing and making sure they are centered or adjusted so it doesnt look odd.

The images were cropped with editing software to be exactly 8 x 10, and even the 5x7's were messed up. I went up today and she printed one for me to see and it looked GREAT! The big thing was that the RGB's had been totally screwed with. Apparently she said that before they printed them the tech should have run a color test, when they didn't do that all my pics printed with a pink ton and grainy. I am so excited to see what the rest look like when I go pick them up!
