I went to cvs today to do the benefiber deal and to get a phone top up card for my daughter. On my first order I had the benefiber and I handed the cashier a coupon from cvs diabetes book for benefiber and then I handed her the coupon for benefiber from the paper. She said I cannot use both and I asked why and she said loss prevention had just been in and all the cvs employees were told that all the coupons were hurting cvs's bottom line. I asked her how that could be possible when they get reimbursed from the manufactures. They have always let me use a manufactures coupon and a cvs coupon. She said she didn't know but, that's what they were told. She also said they were told to cut down on all the people getting 150.00 worth of merchandice for 1 or 2 dollars. I told her as long as the coupons are legit how could they possibly do that. She said talk to loss prevention .After all that I wanted to get the phone card for my daughter and I wanted to pay with the gift card my mom got for me and she said I could only pay cash! That is weird because they have always let me do it before. So, needless to say I left with nothing. I am really disappointed, my cvs used to be awesome and there isn't another one around.

I am not sure about the phone card because I have never dealt with them. But I would get CVS's coupon policy in writing and go up and talk to a manager. If the written policy states (1) cvs AND (1) manufacture coupon per item (which is what I thought it stated) then they can't deny that. Sorry for the trouble!

CVS waiting for reply! I also had the same problem with CVS on the Benefiber. I was told I could use either the CVS or manufacturers coupon but I can not use both. This happened last Saturday and I did e-mail CS asking for a copy of their coupon policy. When and if I get a copy I will go down with the complete e-mail printed and try another deal. I was told that is stacking and they were told not to do that at a managers meeting.

I also requested a copy of the cvs in store coupon policy a while ago and have yet to recieve it. I just requested it again so, we'll see.

Remember it's often YMMV with each of your stores. While corporate may have a policy in place, each store may still implement their own policy. Management usually has a little bit of wiggle room with policies. We've learned too often here on AFC that there is no universal rule. I would suggest that if you're ever in doubt talk directly to a manager before leaving the store.

I tried to use the $/$ off like we had been at two different CVS stores and they both said that I couldn't use them that way anymore. I was sad but oh well.. I will just use them when I can now!

This is what I recieved today. I guess I'll have to just send a BUNCH of questions for her to answer since they will not give me the coupon policy. Dear Ms. Smith, Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Please accept our apologies for the delay in response to your email. Unfortunately, CVS/pharmacy does not supply our policies in writing upon request. The stores are supplied with our coupon policies and the Manager or Supervisor on duty should be called if there are questions or concerns on a coupon in the store. If you have a $2.00 off of a $10 purchase and a $4.00 off of a $20 purchase, your total purchase combined would need to equal $30 to be able to use both coupons. There are no limits to manufacturer coupons, but they are limited to one coupon per item. If you have any further questions, please reach out to a member of the Management team at your local store. We apologize for any inconvenience once again. Lori LaVerdiere Customer Relations CVS Pharmacy 1-800-746-7287
