I bought 3 items totaling ~$20 and used ~$14 in ECB and $3 in coupons. Total oop $3.11. The item I need to return is $8.69. I want to buy other items. Can I just have the return given to me in store credit to use on my new purchase? Will they give me a problem because I used ECBs? Does anyone have any experience with this kind of return? TIA.

I had to return an item that I used ECB on the other day (I bought the wrong one) they just refunded the original purchase price of the one item plus tax onto a CVS card. They didn't give me any problems at all.

I had a problem with toothpaste the other day. I bought the larger size, not the one giving ECB. My oop was only .73. I tried to do an exchange and the lady would not let me. She said I didn't pay $2.99, only .73 so it won't work. She wound up just switching out the toothpastes... which I didn't get ECB for anyway! I guess it depends on your cashier... good luck!

I had a similar issue and the cashier told me she would just do a refund with out a receipt(even though I had the receipt) which would give me credit for the item on a cvs cash card. So you may want to try that.

I tried to return a $12 item from a trip where I paid out less than $3. They were only going to give me back the money a paid out and no credit at all. I kept the item! I didn't speak with a manager though. If you encounter the same, maybe a manager can override it. Good Luck!

Every time I've returned items I've received a CVS money card as my return because my OOP is always only a couple dollars. Basically they just try to keep your money in the store. If you have a problem with a cashier just talk to a manager and they'll probably issue you the money card without any problems.
