Help Sign Only 1 ECB per item or ECB = CVS Coupon?

Basically I was buying some DVD-R disks for my computer and I used a $2 off $10 and I was going to pay the rest in ECB, and they said I couldn't use the ECB because I only had one item. Does that sound right? Do I need to have an item for every ECB I use?

I threw a pack of gum on so I could use the ECB and luckily I had an ECB that closely matched the total ($12), but they would not have let me use 2 or 3 small ECBs.

I rarely buy one item, so maybe I am just forgeting the basics, but I thought I could use ECBs like cash...how would I ever be able to buy a higher priced item (like a camera) if I wasn't doing a whole shopping trip. I guess I would have to pick up 5-10 litltle items?

Any experts have input?

It used to be like that until recently, and the cashier probably didn't know. It's now supposed to be unlimited ECBs per transaction. I used 8 or so of them plus a $15/$75 coupon on one item when I bought a digital camera recently.

That's what I thought too...I even asked for the supervisor and she agreed with the cashier.

LOL now that I think about it, I should be quiet and get over it, cause the guy on Thanksgiving, let me stack 2 or 3 XX/XXX and use about 8 ECBs to buy my one item LCD picture frame..and I shouldn't have been able to do that! Where was my brain??

the policy is supposed to be as beattlebutt mentioned...unlimited ECBs... The reason is they are essentially cash or a gift card.

ECB have NO CASH VALUE until you use them to purchase items at CVS. At that point you "spend" them. If they had cash value, you could actually convert them to cash or get a refund if you didn't "spend" the entire ECB.

Today I bought $69 worth of stuff and paid "0" OOP because I used a combination of 12 CVS coupons, CVS ECB, manufacturer's coupons, and a CVS GC that was a "refund" of an item that I previously purchased w/ ECB and coupons.

I have been told by CVS that you can not purchase CVS gift cards w/ ECB or CVS coupons. I know some of the members here have done so, but I don't push that envelope. I am happy that they have such a gracious program.

Exactly! I think she was just searching for some reason to give me. Thanks for letting me know I wasn't crazy for what I was thinking.

My CVS won't let you use more than one ECB if you only have one item. They are very strict about that too.

I am not Drea but I know the Limerick PA (Montgomery County) store won't allow more then one ECB. I avoid that store as much as possible.

It can really vary by manager. I figure there are so many good stores that are happy to have my business that I will just go to them.

Before I started shopping today at CVS I asked the cashier about using them. I told her a had a lot about to expire - ECB and the CVS coupons from online. She said I could use them all just to make certain I had an item for each one. I then said, "I could just get small 'filler items?" She said - sure.

Hi I have a question I went to cvs and bought 3 right guard and 4 soft and dry on seperate transactions on different days. And did not realize that the limit was 5 and went to return them and the cashier said because i used ecb to pay for my order and 1.28 cash they could not give me the refund. So I looked at the other transaction and I paid 42.78 cash so I think I can return the other two on that transaction. Not sure.
