At 2 CVS's today I was turned down with the Nova Max coupon. After being turned down at one, I called the second. The woman I spoke with, a manager, who gave me her name and everything said the only way I could use it was if I purchased 2 machines and used one coupon. I told her the coupon states for 1 machine and can she just price adjust? She said no, that the only way they would honor it was if I took 2 machines. It would have been $10 oop but I was just going to use 2- $4/20 and a $2/10 anyway. So, I agreed. I got the baby ready and went over to the CVS. The baby was so grumpy, crying the whole time. But, I knew exactly what I wanted so I went back to the pharmacy to get it. The guy rang me up, I told him what the manager had said and he called the other manager over for his key. That guy, the 2nd manager, got soooooooo rude and said "here, we won't take this" and gave me back the coupon. I was furious. I explained the conversation with the other woman. He called her to the back. She said "oh, I didn't know it said one machine" I TOLD YOU IT DID!!!! He told me that CVs doesn't price adjust and that the coupon was invalid on sale merchandise. On sale merchandise???? It's a CVS coupon for one certain machine... a CVS coupon put out by CVS the same week as the sale. Why would they put out a coupon they DON'T WANT YOU TO USE??? I'm so frustrated. Did I mention the baby was so grumpy and I was in a hurry? Anyone else have the problem I had? Should they not be allowed to say yes on the phone then no in the store? I love CVS and all... but this was just ridiculous. Ok, so I just got off the phone with corporate. The woman was in shock! I told her exactly what had happened. She said they should have price adjusted and that it is even in writing to each store! But, she did think it was a manufacturers coupon, does that make a difference? I told her it was a CVS coupon and all she could say was "oh". She took my phone number and went to call the store to find out what their side is. She said she will call me back today and let me know the situation. Here's hoping. ![]() Ok, here's the latest! The woman called me back from corporate. She said she had called the store and told the mgr that they had to adjust and enter as store coupon. She also said a memo had been sent out on Monday about this exact issue. I then called the store to see if they still had them left as they did yesterday. My luck, the mgr I had the confrontation with yesterday is the one who answered. He said they sold out and doesn't know when he'll get more. So, I went to another CVS and got one there. No problem! The girl was soooo nice about it but also mentioned they did not rec. any books yet. When I went to another CVS, they had the books but no meters. But, they have the books behind the counter so you have to ask for them ![]() Last edited by AdamsMom; 11-01-2007 at 01:05 PM.

I got one today and visited 5 CVSs to get it. All the ones I went in DIDN'T even have the sale price posted, so they all said 59.99 which I was debating on getting anyway but when I found one, I check the circular and saw it in for 29.99, and again, when I went to the pharmacy for it, no sign. So the pharmacist rang it up and SHE seemed surprised that it wrang up at 29.99 and said something to the other lady. I then gave her the coupon and she looked at it and explained that she couldn't give me money back but she would price adjust it, and I told her that's what I figured on. She then heard the *beep beep beep* and said WOW! I explained thats why I wanted it so bad She asked me where I got the coupon from. I looked at my MIL and then smiled as I pointed to the stack of booklets aside if us. I felt odd telling them THEY offered it when she didn't even seem to know they were on sale. But I got it without grief!

The print ad says "no other discounts" so I am wondering if many stores will do the same thing (not allow the coupon).

I have gotten 6 and it was not without some serious leg work. Most stores do not have them in stock, some say they do not even have a spot on the shelf for them. I called all of the CVS's in my area and found the 6 that I have. When they were rung up what a nightmare. Most spent alot of time on that until they finally figured out to price adjust. One store flatly refused. 6 is enough for me for all of the hassle. Gave 3 away and the rest took down to my local Salvation Army.

I also had a hard time with the manager telling me he had to refuse it because they are not valid during the sale. I told hime there is nothing that states you cannot take the coupon while on sale. He states well, my manager told me not to accept them till the sale is over. (Ladies, some of them might be catching on to us..) So I just kept telling him there was nothing in writing that stated this....I think he just wanted me to shut up and leave and gave me one for free, price adjusting back up to $ 50 and using the coupon but didnt not give me the extra $20 ECB. By that time I was like whatever Im done. This was my first CVS experience. At least I got one to donate ![]()

Please consider donating to a nursing home or something. Salvation Army just sells things for profit and mine marks things up sky high...only a couple of dollars off the walmart price.

Girl, call cvs customer care!!!!!!!! They are really good about customer satisfaction. They gave me $5 free ecb once just because I called to ask if coupons I purchased on ebay were fakesies (they were) and they "felt bad" for me!

Point out to those managers/cashiers that pretty much *everything* on that page in the weekly ad has a corresponding coupon in the Diabetes book which is also pictured in that page. I mean, come on, do they really think that CVS corp. did that by accident? They obviously need to move product or else need to show some kind of 'loss' on their books and did this b/c they knew it would get things moving (honestly, do we really think that CVS believes that any individual person *needs* 5 monitors? Those things last for years. They did that limit just so people would get them moving. That's just my personal theory, of course, but seriously, think about it.) Not to mention the fact that they know that a certain percentage of people who try those monitors will decide to keep using them and have to keep buying the strips, which one manager told me today makes up a good percentage of their profits weekly/monthly/whatever, and the fact that they know that not everyone who earns ECBs is going to care or remember to use them before they expire. CVS does these deals on purpose for a reason. I really doubt that these deals hurt them in the longrun, or they would have stopped running them or cancelled the whole ECB program long ago. P.S. Sorry that went kind of OT. I agree that you should call and complain, there's no reason for them to deny your valid coupon that they themselves advertised, and it's just plain wrong for them to refuse to accept your customer loyatly card.
