Will ECB and coups mess up a mail in rebate?

My 15 y/o nephew is always losing his glucose monitor (too bad he doesn't use the novamax!) and my sister and I are both wanting to do the free-after-rebate freestyle lites (this IS his monitor). The rebate states "up to $40". Two questions:

1) The item is 29.99. If I had item count filler can I use my 2/10 and and a 4/20 and pay 23.99 and get the full 29.99 rebate back? If not, I will just buy $6 worth of stuff I can use and pay the full $29.99...I have to use 2/10 or 4/20 if I am going to be spending that much money.

2) If I use ecb, will I get my full rebate back? So, if I had $10 ecb on the 29.99 monitor, would I get 19.99 on my rebate or 29.99?

Thanks for reading..I hope I that wasn't too confusing.

Pumpkin

You will get your full rebate, regardless how much you paid using cvs coupons or ecb's.

I did the tylenol rebate and only paid $.50 total. I just got the $5 check today.

Ok, good deal! I'll use my 4/20 and 2 2/10 and then I'll be oop a lot less before I get my rebate. He is using this machine in conjunction with a new continuous machine, but he still uses this one some b/c the strips are waaaaay expensive on the new one.

Agreed. There have been manufacturers on the some of the meters that can tell when you use their coupon that is directly for the meter and reduce the rebate amount by the amount of the Q. However, ECB's & $/$$ CVS Q's ring up on the register as CVS coupon. The only thing that will matter is the line item on the receipt itself.

Regardless of the total, you should be reimbursed the full amount. We prove this time & time again. I'm sending off a Beano To Go TMF rebate in the morning for $2.99. The receipt total is for $1.92 for about $53 worth of stuff & I am certain that I will get my full rebate. They don't even take into account that I used a coupon for it when I bought it either.

I bought a couple of the One Touch meters awhile back that were free after rebate and I also had coupons for them. I did one in my name and I got the full rebate. Then I did one in my sister's name and she got $1.60 back instead of $30. On her's I used $4 and $5 CVS coupon and $20 ECB. It showed I paid about $1.60 OOP so I'm sure that's why I didn't get it. Plus I only bought the meter and one other thing on that receipt. But on the one I did for myself, had tons of other stuff on there so I think they couldn't figure out that I used coupons soley on that so that had to honor it.

So I would buy other stuff at the same time so they have a harder time saying you got it for free/very little since you used coupons.
