For those having trouble finding the Nova coupons Here is a link for a voucher for a FREE Nova Max... Not as good as the overage, but if it still spits out the ECB then great. I will try it in the morning and see if it still spits out the ECB. Nova Maxª . Voucher for your Free Nova Max

This machine is really setup for diabetic use. I hope my grandfather is able to get one down in Florida after you've tried to use them to get ECB. This urks me to read this when grandpoppy can't find what he needs for his diabetic needs.

before you make assumptions....try asking what I am going to do with them. I am going to donate them to the Children's Hospital where my 2 week old son was in PICU for 2 months on a breathing tube. I have gotten very close with the staff there and donated all the meters I got to them last time around! Please don't run your mouth if you have no idea what your talking about.

Is the hospital in need of these kind of machines there for PICU? Typically, they have machines at the hospital that just need strips replenished! Have you thought about using your ECB to purchase the strips needed? There will be people that actually need these machine, and the strips. JMO Last edited by HeatherNMaine; 10-28-2007 at 07:57 PM. Reason: adding strips

Joe Dimaggio Childrens is attached to Memorial West, the donation center is in an office that dispurses what's donated to patients there. You really shouldn't have an opinon on what or where I donate...a donation is a donation, reguardless of how YOU see fit that the supplies should or shouldn't go to. I am going to just stop responding to you. Blasting someone because you don't like who I choose to make a donation to. Last edited by mjloves2shop; 10-28-2007 at 09:33 PM.

I just reported you for calling me an ignorant person. That's not acceptable for you to speak to me in that manner! I just want grandpoppy to be able to check his blood sugars when he needs to!

Ok, let's just calm down. Tiffany has every right to donate where she wants and what she wants. I think it's great that people can utilize coupons to get large quantities of things to donate to people who maybe don't know how to do it or don't have access to the resources to do it. Rock on Tiffany! HeatherNMaine, maybe a great thing you could do for your Grandpoppy would be to print the coupons for the things he uses and send them to him so he can utilize them and get them for a lot less than he normally would. I'm sure he would appreciate it and you'd be doing a wonderful thing for him.

If he can find them after umm "Tiffany" (Ms. Wonderful) gets them all before Grandpoppy gets around tomorrow. Oh well, PICU will have them and "Tiffany" will have her ECB. Grandpoppy can always just purchase the strips he needs. While Joe Dimaggio Childrens is attached to Memorial West Hospital has them in storage.

I'm sorry, but you really don't get to dictate where she donates. Her name IS Tiffany, so no need for quotes. Her baby was well taken care of in that hospital and she wants to do something to show her appreciation, I imagine. This is something she can do to try and help as a form of thank you. I really think you are doing yourself a disservice by jumping on her for it.

Heather, my nephew has diabetes and has actually had problems finding a meter before at CVS(and who knows why, perhaps an ecb deal). CVS should stock items better, and I think we can all agree on that. Whether or not she is right or wrong in her actions, I really think you have been much more hostile and degrading to the OP than she has been to you, so that "report" was a little hypocritical. Things can be said in a way that is not attacking. Attacking only causes people to close their ears and get defensive.

Your right, I am just an ignorant person! Wish Grandpoppy well tomorrow!

![]() Maybe you could get the supplies he needs with the coupons and send them to him. Then you'll be sure he gets what he needs and others can take advantage of a great deal and their local charities can benefit from them. |

Thanks Emily for pointing out the positives about donating the machines. I picked up about 10 of the diabetic machines over the past year and have given them to my MIL. She lives in a small town of many elderly who couldn't affoard a machine plus the strips. So, I was able to help them out. Many people will just get the machines and then sell them on ebay or throw them away just to get the ECB's. Locking the thread. Still can leave thanks for the OP.

TNT0806 ~ you are correct to just ignore those with different opinions and attitudes! Bravo! She edited her post so I don't know what she said before your post, but we should probably not attack anyone's intelligence. But FL is a really big state and I have 2 monitors in the garage ready for donation so if "GrandPappy" lives close enough I will drop on off!

Thanks Karen ~ good job (she put the whole thread in time-out)! I too donate many of these, I never take the only one of that brand on the shelf ~ but I see nothing wrong with the deed-doer having a positive reward for their time, effort, gas etc. I know I donate many, many new items that I have to pay tax on but do because I know our local church shelter can use them ~ so if I get a little kick-back on an occasional meter, even better! OP was attempting to help us out and should be applauded for it, not flamed. Again, JMO.
