Ok, my cvs is doing a halloween photo shoot. I am thinking it is just because the shy brooding cashier I have mentioned is an aspiring photographer. Anyway, Mr Shy&Brooding tells me as I am leaving "I know you are really busy (ahem, the 3 kids constantly in tow) but I am doing a photo shoot this Saturday and we are going to have a backdrop set up and take pictures of the kids with their costumes on." They are charging 4.47 for 3 5x7...not too bad.
The rest of this story is just for the moms who will be the only ones to care/understand enough to read this:
My 3.5 y/o son is the world's pickiest eater. I know part of it is my fault, but when he was in the NICU when he was born the nurses told me he would gobble up breastmilk but would frown when he was fed formula. I decided that moment to nurse him and have been catering to him ever since. Well, we are now trying to crack down. He is so stubborn on this...he will not eat food for any of the bribes we have tried, from toys to a trip to the bouncy place to more food he will eat. DH has even gone the opposite way and threatened negative consequences for not TRYING something. Nothing has worked. Tonight I made a lasagna chocked full of tons of yellow and red peppers, some beef, and the normal lasagna components. I put some on his plate even though I thought it was a waste for sure. He eats his banana and roll. He drinks his milk. He asks to be put in time out vs. sit in front of the lasagna (lest it jump up and run down his throat). Dh said "ok, you're in time out...and time out is your dinner chair." DOH! I told DH about the cvs photo shoot and just offhandedly said "Eli, I will take you to the cvs photo shoot to get your picture made if you will eat some lasagna." Dh and I keep talking and out of the blue, DS tries lasagna! Guess what- he likes it! I was wondering what prompted him when he starts screaming in excitement: "yay- I get to be in the cvs photo shoot!!!!!!" Vanity is the boys weakness...I have finally appealed to the one thing that matters to him apparently. We got out the digital camera and did a photo shoot where he proceeded to eat about 7 bites of lasagna before he was full. He liked it and told me "thank you mom for making such good duh-zon-ya."
I LOVE IT.
Now my shy brooding cashier has a true place in my heart!
