$2/$10- Learn from my mistake I went to cvs last night and used my $2/$10...no problems. Today I went back to get a prescription filled and get my gift card. I received a $4/$20 baby care last night on my receipt, so I bought 1 Johnson's soothing naturals balm (sale for $2.99) Big thing of Swipers - 7.99 Pampers Wipes 3.49 2 jars gerber .79 2 cheap toothbrushes 1.58 Playskool wipes $3.29 Used $4/20, $2/10, $3/pampers wipes, $1/swipers, $1 off playskool wipes, cvs coupy for $2/playskool wipes, and $2 printable for the johnsons. She rang everything up with my meds and she told me I could not use the $2/$10. I don't know if this is because I used it once or because I bought it with the meds when the coupon says on non Rx purposes, but she told me it was because I had received a gift card in the same transaction. She was really nice and really knowledgable, so I don't think she was just lying or being lazy. Anyway, word to the wise...ring up the Rx's separate EVERY TIME!

I had a similar issue with ECB's the other week when I was getting a GC at the RX counter. I had my prescription & also was buying a Tylenol Sinus & Cold (w/$1 coupon) & a Cottonelle flushable wipes with no coupon. Based on this, I had enough items that it should not have been an issue. The total of the non-RX items was around $7AC before tax & I had a $5.96 ECB. The register would not take it like I was trying to use it on the RX which I know is not legal. However, I had enough total of non-RX that is should have allowed me to use it. It was no big loss & I was still getting enough free money on the GC to make it good, so I let it slide rather than complaining. However, I found that very odd as I've used ECB's & CVS/mfr Q's to get my total below the total RX value before & the register took everything. Only thing I can figure is it had to be something about having that GC on the receipt........that was the only thing different.

I get the RX rung up in the back and then go to the front of the store for the other stuff. It's a hassle, but my pharmacy people aren't always as nice about the coupons. I'm ok with that, they are always so busy when I'm there!
