| Sunday Time Change CVS PSA
Okay, here's the yearly Public Service Announcement. ![]() Time to change those clocks back an hour on Sunday. But something even more important to remember: Put fresh batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors this weekend! CVS is even making it easy for you if you don't have a stash of 9V batteries -- their CVS brand batteries will be B1G1 Free for the 11/1 ad week (reg prices are 3.99 for a single 9V and $6.49 for a double pack of 9V batteries.) It's not the best value but if you still have the $5/$25 Flu Quiz coupon, you could even work a deal so you're getting the batteries for free. With temperatures dropping and heaters starting to be used, there's no excuse for not putting fresh batteries in those smoke detectors. Keeping your family safe is definitely worth the $2 or so a new battery costs. |

Absolutely true! Stay safe, everyone! P.S. Isn't this PSA twice-yearly?

And, just another PSA. If your Smoke Detectors are older than 8 to 10 years old, please replace them. Once they get that old, they're past their prime and need to be kicked to the curb and replaced with the newer models that can protect your family and home. |
