Question about Ice Age deal and EBT cards

Edit - After everyone's response here (thank you) my friend went and did the deal and it worked like this : She bought 6 waters 3/$11 = $22 + 1 Ice Age Dvd - $4off$20 paid with EBT (food) paid .99 cents cash!!

Does anyone know (who has an EBT food stamp card) if this deal will work? Example generally if you use an EBT card (the kind with food stamps only - no cash on card) and you buy food items and have items that are non food and have coupons for the non food items - if you do the transaction together the coupons will be taken off the food and not the non food items. So has anyone done one of these deals when it was food items and you were supposed to get X off of a non food item and if so did it work or did you have to end up paying full price for the non food item? Or if anyone is going to try can you let me know if it works? Thanks.

Sorry for the lengthy question but I wanted to try and be as clear as possible.

***EDIT - What I am asking is will the $15 be taken off of the DVD or will it be taken off of the food? When my friend does not seperate her food and non food items any coupons for the non food items the money gets taken off of the food items and not the non food ones. I am trying to see if this deal will work for her or not. She now always does seperate her food and non food items but for this deal she would not be able to. Again the times she has not seperated her non food items from her food items and she has also used coupons on her non food items in that transaction the amount is deducted from her food and not the items it should have been deducted from. So again does anyone know from experience at CVS with a similar deal (one with food items and an amount off of a non food purchase all in one transaction) will the amount be taken off of the food or the DVD?

Thanks

***Edit - I will let her know that it has worked for others and will update and let you know how well she did. (she doesn't have internet so I am her middle man )

I use mine at Walmart and I don't have to separate anything. I put everything up there.. give the cashier my coupons and I get a Total... and then I swipe my EBT card.. and then the cashier will give me a new total.. and those are the items that were non-food that I need to use another form of payment for

In doing the Ice Age deal it could not be 2 transactions. It would have to be one in order for it to work.

She generally does that but if she uses coupons for her non food items the coupons are deducted (for some reason) on the food amount and not the non food items so then she ends up paying more than planned.

I had no problem using my EBT card with the Monsters v. Aliens deal a couple weeks back. I did it all in one transaction, and ending up only paying $4.99 in cash for the DVD. You should be fine using your EBT card with this deal too.

EBT can be a pain. For the sake of my sanity and ease, over time I learned to separate my Food and Non-Food purchases into 2 Transactions (Toothepaste, TP etc). I usually tote along coupons for both Food and Non-Food items and have had issues. I also have Cash Benefits on my Independence Card. The cash I may get at an ATM for free. I've had issues with my Cash Benefits going toward Food (which I need for living expenses like the TP or bills.). *sighs*

Good thing I have noticed at CVS is if you use extrabucks, it is applied to the non food items first when paying with EBT!! So, you can so it as one transaction.

I have not looked ta the add, but how it worked last time is you spend so much $ on specfic items and then you get a coupon fo rthe movie off your NEXT transaction.

If you're concerned about the deal not working with EBT, you could buy the food items tonight or tomorrow, before the movie comes out (I'm assuming it comes out on Tuesday like most movies) and then you should get a coupon for $15 off the movie. I've never done it, though - that's just what I've heard during past deals like this.

I bought 6 12 packs of Dasani and the movie in one transaction. I used my EBT card and then paid $5.29 cash including the tax.

I worked 10 hours today so maybe I'm missing it....do you mean she got the movie and her goodies free...or she actually walked out not paying anything in ebs or cash or food stamp benefits?

She paid the $22 or whatever for the water with her ebt card (food stamps) and then then $4off of $20 coupon paid for part of the dvd and then she paid 99 cents cash for the remainder of the cost of the movie. For some reason she did not have to pay tax on the movie. We are still trying to figure that one out.

The $2 coupon is not for Ice Age 3 but for the other 2 (Ice Age 1 and Ice Age 2) movies.
