Madness is stopped for me. Not of my own making though! I went to a different CVS today so I wouldn't wipe out the two I've already hit this week. Cashier and manager on duty FREAK OUT and say that I can only use ONE COUPON for the entire transaction. I explained the coupon verbage to them. No go. I call CVS customer service while I'm in the store. After being on hold for 20 minutes while they deal with store management on another line, help desk tells me that they won't accept the coupons for my purchases because there has been too much "COUPON FRAUD". That's all it took to light my fire! I told the CS lady on the phone that the coupons were good since they came from the display at CVS!!! She said that they'd have to have the district manager call me to discuss it further. I told her to be sure and let the district manager know that I would be contacting the manufacturer to let them know that CVS is not honoring their coupons even though they have them on their displays!! Still awaiting the call from the district manager! My face is still hot from anger!!!! ![]()

I fully agree about it being just shampoo. I've got plenty! I was fine to just cut my losses and leave the store but when the words "COUPON FRAUD" were uttered, it made my blood boil! I pride myself on being an extremely ethical couponer and to have those words used as a reference in a conversation with me, well that's what set me off! If the rides over, then the rides over. I totally get that and it was fun while it lasted. But being treated as though I were doing something wrong is just too much for me to handle. I'll have to listen to the link in a bit. Gotta go cook dinner. Thanks for letting me vent ! LOL ![]()

Sorry Sam...I have to agree with ShoppingDiva on this one. I do not expect to be treated badly when I am at a store using coupons that came from a display. Most of us have gotten the line that it is coupon fraud. Stay calm and call higher up and talk to them. Many times, being calm gets the job done faster. If not, then scream and rant all you want. Good luck and let us know what happens. I will be going to another CVS tomorrow to roll over more of my ecbs before all the shampoo disappears. I plan on donating at least 3/4 of it. Good tax deduction and it sure helps out alot of people.

ok kmchamplin but you are making it too simple - yes for example when a cashier calls me "a liar" or something similar i flip out as well but i have VERY specific things i say as a response so that i am flipping out AND getting results out of them i can only encourage people to go back and listen to that episode i worked on it for many hours and it really is there to help get you the end result you are after no matter how much name calling they give you

I can't listen to your movies since I have dial-up and it is always "buffering" the movies. Maybe I believe that being nice wins in the end. If not, then take to upper management.

| brief summary of how to argue w a cashier 1) Remind cashier of store’s coupon policy. Show them in writing. 2) Do not let them just walk away 3) Ask again politely 4) Tell the cashier the first thing you will do is call corporate 5) Tell the cashier you will then contact the BBB and a local newspaper 6) Tell the cashier you will then contact the manufacturer 7) Tell the cashier that if this is an ongoing problem you will also file a complaint with the attorney general of your state, and you will put the cashier’s name in ALL of the above mentioned documents 8) Ask again politely 9) Turn on the “video camera” on your cell phone. If your cell phone does not really have a video camera just pretend it does and hold it up as if you are videotaping the cashier. 10) If the cashier says anything about the “video camera” just ignore him. It is not illegal to film him or in the store without permission. You are not trespassing unless he specifically asks you to leave the property. If he wants to call the cops let him, but of course they will laugh at him when they show up since you are not doing anything remotely illegal. 11) If anyone working there DOES ask you to leave the store, then you need to do so immediately. 12) Now that your “video camera” is running, ask to speak to a manager. 13) On “camera” ask the manager specifically what the problem is with the coupons. 14) If the manager is different then the previous person go back to #1 15) If the manager still refuses the coupons, and you are sure you are correct then leave the store and follow through with steps 4, 5, 6, and 7. 16) Wait patiently for results. | also you should NEVER EVER have this problem at CVS because the employee manual is located at the base of the register and CLEARLY spells out the coupon policy - it should never get past step #1 at CVS Last edited by Kmchamplin; 07-07-2006 at 07:42 AM. |

Wow great ideas Sam. I really cant believe CVS starting to act that way about q-pons. That is the reason we shop there. If they dont want to win my business, they wont get it. Also, let them know how many people you come in contact with on a daily basis (AFC) and that you will let everyone know how they acted. Maybe once their business suffers and have to layoff employees, they will change their ways. One thing I have always taught my son is that everyone has a boss. No matter what they do or who they are. Sometimes you have to go to the top (and usually in a "service provider" business) the top boss is us the consumer.
