Help! I am a Newbie to the entire CVS ECB to get a Gift Card.

I keep re-reading the posts. So if this is an incorrect post, my apologies.

I am a bit confused. O.K. I am really lost on this one.

I have read the Posts about you need $20 in mfg to obtain a gift card?

Will someone explain in detail how to do this transaction?

Please explain in detail how the ECB to get a Gift Card works.

A million thanks.

Well, I don't personally condone the whole gift card thing, but you asked nicely.

You need at least as much in manufacturer's coupons as you plan to get on a gift card. So if you want to get a $20 gift card, you need at least $20 in manufacturer's coupons. If you wanted a $50 gift card (pretty ambitious LOL) you would need at least $50 in manufacturer's coupons. See? The idea is that you are using your ECBs to 'pay' for your 'stuff', and your manufacturer's coupons are actually 'paying' for your gift card. So, if you're going for the $20 gift card, you could get maybe $25 worth of stuff and a $20 gift card (for a total of a $45 transcation), and to pay you could use maybe $20 in ECBs, $20 in manufacturer's coupons, and maybe pay $5.00 + tax oop to hopefully not draw too much attention to the fact that you're getting the giftcard w/o paying in real cash.

Don't be surprised if your store does not allow you to do it, though. There are some that will let you if the register allows it, but some others will tell you straight out that they do not allow it. I know that my stores do not allow it at all and they would get in serious trouble if they allowed it.
