| Can't use ECBs to buy milk????
I went to CVS today to roll some ECBs (got everything I planned to get--FiberOne bars, Kotex, Softsoap Wash, Colgate (the free after ecb ones), and some other odds and ends), and I had a lot of ECBs left over yet, so I figured, "Hey, I need milk, they have milk, I can get free milk!" So I picked up three gallons, thinking I could use some of my remaining ecb money to pay for it. The cashier up front started ringing me up, and the manager, who has always been very nice to me, came up to open another register. She asked me how I was doing and other small talk. Then noticed my milk and told me (just fyi-like) BTW, ECBs won't work for milk--no dairy products, in fact. I thanked her for the info--I wasn't aware of that! She was very nice about it, really, but I'm still disappointed! CVS has foiled my plans to get free milk!

That is soo not true! I buy all of my milk at CVS and always use ECBs. My total sale may not be 100% purchased on ECBs, but they are there! I think u can even use the to pay ur script co-pay! The pharmacist the other day told me u cna use anything CVS to pay for scripts! I used up some GC to pay my copay and got another $25 GC for the new script!

hmmm. i have never had a problem with that at cvs. i get milk, eggs, bread, and cottage cheese every week with ecb's. maybe there is some strange rule though b/c the other day i used a coupons and transfered a script to walgreens and tried to get milk there and they actually showed me where on the gift cards it says not redeemable for dairy products. so maybe, i guess. its an odd rule if it is one. and its so not enforced.

I've bought milk with mine plenty of times. Never any problems. That stinks for you! I would ask her where it says that... The only specific exclusion on the ECBs is prescriptions, and of course the other "other restrictions may apply" but this is the first I've ever heard of the "no dairy" rule. How random is that??

I've had to call corporate a few times about this...milk is not excluded, but for some reason they like to think it is...same issue with eggs and newspapers...all ok according to corporate...but they seem to think it's not at some stores.

I have bought milk several times too, but my friend that goes to the same stores they told her no also. I told her I would have other items with it too. The cashier said, someone always buys 3 milks with ECB, she thought that was me. Our other CVS is nicer, I told her to go there |

I think it varies by state??? I remember reading that somewhere... Ive seen store coupons (which is what ecbs are basically) say "excludes alcohol, tobacco and dairy" here in CA... not sure why dairy is excluded ??

We can't use ECB in Pennsylvania on any dairy and it has to do with the PA milk marketing board and certain laws and regulations.

I've used them on milk before, and plan to again today. I think like someone else said that it may be a state by state type of thing.

I've bought milk and icecream several times with ecb's. I'd call corporate and complain! And you might get a gc out of the phone call-that you could buy milk with ha ha.

I've bought milk before. Like the OP said, it may very well be a state by state thing. I don't think you can do alcohol, cigarettes, and lottery though.

1-800-shop-cvs If your manager is always nice, mention that when you call ~ tell them your sister always does it at her CVS and you don't want to get this nice manager in trouble and you don't want to break any rules ~ so what is the rule? They will get it straightened out quick! I get 1-2 every week and the same in bread.
