My Fiancee called me today to tell me he was going out to buy 1 bottle of downy and 1 bottle of tide and I told him to wait until tomorrow because I thought I could get him a better deal at CVS. I was wondering if the following would work since he is starting with *no* ECB and if he gets more, he won't use them (forgetful):

Transaction 1:

2 Dawn Dish Soap @ $.99
1 Covergirl Lashblast

Use:

$4/$20 (From asking @ pharmacy)
$1/1 Tide
$1/1 Tide
$.50/1 Downy
$.50/1 Downy
$.25/1 Dawn
$.25/1 Dawn
$1/1 Covergirl Product

= $17.44 - $7.99 ECB = $9.45 OOP

So, for $13.43 OOP (total), get:

$4.99 Softsoap Nutri Serums 15oz
Blink Tears
2 Tide
2 Downy
2 Dawn Dish Soap
1 Covergirl Lashblast
Free Gift

which is less than the price of just 1 bounty and 1 tide at the grocery store (~$14) I realize there will be some tax but will this work otherwise? I wasn't sure if it was okay to use a covergirl coupon on the 'free' item or not.

I think it will work as you describe. However, I'm not sure whether the $1/1 will work on the free item ... it may come down to whether or not the cashier is paying attention.

As it turns out, all the Qs worked fine even the covergirl Q. The cashier said it was fine - 'it's just like using a coupon on an ECB item' to be exact. Yay! Thanks for replying!
