Well I went back today to CVS to get my other 4 photobooks. They were out of the covers but the same cashier I had yesterday had me go ahead and make my books and she put the pics in a folder with my name and phone number on it and will call me when she has them put together (probably Saturday she said)...and she gave me a raincheck on them so I will still get them free I had two questions though....I asked in my other post about this but got no answer so I'll ask again... 1. When I asked for rainchecks from my photo cashier she wrote them for me. One of them was for the 8 ct Papermate pens. I had found 2 but still needed 1 more. When I went to check out in front the cashier there traded my 2 packages of 8 ct for the 10 ct Papermate pens and added a third package and forced a $3 ECB for me (the ECB doesn't say what its for)...super nice but my receipt does not show me doing the Papermate deal at all. SO question is....can I still do the 8 ct Papermate pens (if I ever find any) and still get an ECB for them? I bought a razor at the store today and it still doesn't show me doing the Papermate deal on my receipt..... ![]() just curious! 2. From that first trip I have a raincheck for one Gilette Fusion Razor....but they had the razors this morning (truck had come but they didn't have any school supplies up yet that I saw) and I got one razor and got my ECB. SO...when they do rainchecks how does it ring up? What I am asking is if I were to get another Gillette Fusion Razor and use the raincheck would they force my $4 ECB or would it show I already bought one. I have never used a raincheck anywhere so I am curious as to how they work! thanks for your help!

Technically, yes, your raincheck would work if you try to get more pens. That's getting into a murky ethical area though, so you're kind of inviting a certain level of 'debate'... I won't get into the debate part though. However, the 10 ct pens are coming up as free-after-ecbs either next week or the week after, so you might not even care to use the raincheck anyway since you have more free pens on the way as it is. ![]() I'm honestly not sure if the system keeps track of whether you've already done a deal once the sale week is over. My guess is that it probably does not, since it disappears from your receipt, but I've never had a reason or the chance to test it myself so I don't know. Generally when you use a raincheck that has a sale price and ECB information, your transaction should go like this: -cashier scans the item -cashier manually price-adjusts the item to the sale price quoted on the raincheck -you pay for your transaction using whatever coupons/ecbs/cash you normally would -you get your receipt -cashier does a new 'transaction' in which they manually force the extrabucks (just like when they forced them for your pens)

Thanks! I certainly don't want to do anything unethical. I didn't realize it would be received that way....so sorry! ![]() I appreciate your response and the info

Well, I'm really hoping that their system DOES keep track as far as raincheck deals and ECBs! I had to get a raincheck for 4 Febreze Noticeables from last week and I'll be holding onto my receipts, so I can prove that I had leftover from the last transaction I was able to do (because I should have $4 going into the next transaction to go toward my "Purchase $10 worth, get $5 ECBs). Oy, things could get very interesting if the system doesn't remember where I was.

This "force-printing" Extra Bucks feature has only been available in the stores for a few months (in the past you'd have to call/email CS) so I'm sure they still have some "tweaking" to do---how to keep track of who force-print what Extra Bucks for what deal for whom---for one. I'm sure if enough people start to "double dip" (using raincheck to get more than the limit), they'll eventually change their way to tighten it up. For now, I don't think they keep track of any past deals, but I don't think we should encourage doing this either. Just my 2 cents. |

Yet another example: I remember back in April/May when they had a Nivea B$15 G $5EB deal, the limit was 5. I bought $15 worth of regular-priced Nivea items which were included in the deal, but for some unknown reason only $5 was counted towards the deal. The supervisor force-printed the $5 EB for me. Then a few days later I bought another $15 worth of Nivea items (different ones), and this time they were all counted, and my eligible total was $20. My EB printed and I had $5 extra for next deal. So it confirmed the force-printed part was not on record at all. Lucky for me, but not so great for CVS. I wonder how long before they make some changes again...
