I am such a ninny! I should have checked on here before running out on Saturday evening and filling my cart up with school supplies.

Now I have a bag full and did not get the approx. $15 ECB that I was hoping for. It threw my whole trip.

Can I return this bag of stuff tomorrow (paid for albeit with other ECBs) and re-purchase it to get the ECBs?

Will the ECBs even print if I return it? I used my card the first time but nothing is on the end of the receipt regarding limits, etc. and it is obvious no ECBs printed (they will know in the store that none would print on Sat night anyway).

Help! I want my ECBs and its making me sick!

Don't feel sick -- I know the feeling. I maxed out a deal last week and no more Extra Care Bucks printed . . . TJust so you know in your case you did not get the Extra Care Bucks because even though some stores turn on the sales early Extra Care Bucks that do not last the week (like a Sunday/Monday or in this case Sunday/Monday/Tuesday deal) do not print until Sunday. Extra Care Bucks deals that run all week do seem to print out . . . I have read this numerous times but never tried it myself.

This is what I personally would do.

Go this morning and rebuy the stuff first. Get your Extra Care Bucks for the items you want. Then if you can go to another store or go back later in the week. I try and go to a store where they at least know my face and it doesn't send them running in the opposite direction . . . One that is friendly to me and knows I love to max out deals but that I do it all by the book. When I did this actually last night I said to the cashier that I bought too many for the deal and wanted to return them. I had the receipt intact and there were no Extra Care Bucks printed on the bottom. Not that he or the front end manager checked but still . . . I felt better about it. I told him I knew I paid with Extra Care Bucks and it would need to go on a CVS money card which was fine with me. He did it like a standard return and then needed the manager card. A young lady came up and she confirmed to him what I said . . . money card for the entire thing. I felt a little guilty because I used coupons to purchase the items and they gave me full credit back. I did NOT do this on purpose and I know they will get the $16 in coupons from the manufacturer. Most stores of course do not get this and want to just refund prices after coupon . . . I want to be clear that I think it is unethical to buy something with a coupon knowing you are going to return it to make money . . .

I want to note that as of late people have posted that they have had times when employees and managers say that you cannot get anything back except actual tender (cash/credit card) paid. This is baloney. If the store you do end up going to says this I would just smile, take everything back and try another one.

So all hope is not lost.

Go to the store and tell the manager that you mistakenly thought the ECBs would print for the items you bought. Explain that you found out that the items where the Sun/Mon/Tues only ECB items so no ECBs printed and ask if the manager will be so kind as to force print the ECBs for you.

If not, return the items and rebuy them. The manager shouldn't have any problem working with you because this happens a lot when the stores activate the sales early.

i think if u take in your receipt and tell them u bought the stuff but no ecb printed, they would gladly force print it for u, if not just tell them u want to return and rebuy them like op said.

I dont think u would have kind of problem.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I went this morning and kindly explained the situation to the daytime manager. She forced the ECB which I was soooo happy. Instead of doing 99c she rounded all of them up to the next whole dollar.

I should have got 9 x 99c for 2 glues, 2 rulers, 2 notebooks, 3 pens and 2 x 2.99 for 2 scissors. This equals 14.89. Well, for some reason I ended up with $17 in ECB!!!

Craziness- I didn't realize this until later when I was at home. While I was in the store, I saw my mom was also in there pushing her cart of goodies and struck up a convo about what deals she was doing while the manager was printing my ECB. When she was finished, I thanked her and stuffed them in my purse without looking.

I feel kinda bad but not bad enough to go back and "return" the bux. I planned on using a 2.50 CRT but forgot and now it's expired so I'm chaulking up the "extra ECB" as the money I would have saved if I had used that ECB as intended. Ahhh- justification!

I went shopping Saturday evening and the manager comes up to see what I'm getting, kinda uncomfortable but I deal with it because she is nice most of the time. Anyway she asks if I'm getting the school supplies and I tell her I will tomorrow because they won't print tonight, she look dumbfounded and said they would, we went back and forth for a few minutes me doubting they wouldn't print, her convincing me she programmed all the sales already........yadda yadda yadda. I then tell her, I'll buy them but if I don't get my bucks will you give them to me? She immediately said yes so I got all the BTS freebies, of course no ECB's and she then spent 5 minutes printing my ecb's. I told her she should've believed me because the customer is always right, I thought it was funny and clever but I guess she didn't!!!

Haha! At least she gave you the bucks. I'm glad our stores are accommodating... I've read some horror stories on here!
