yes, you can use a coupon for a "free" item that's how you "make $$" at CVS.

I think your first transaction would be OOP:$4.48, back $9.49 ECB, for your second transaction I think it would be Total 16.45, minus 11.89 ECB = $4.56 OOP, back $10.49 ECB, third transaction Total $11.00, minus $10.49 ECB from second transaction = $.51 OOP, back $5 ECB.

So that makes your total OOP = $9.55, total ECBs gained = $24.98, total ECB spent = $23.98. HTH!
