| New Wording on CRTs $x off of $xx Purchase
Have you looked at the wording on the redbox CRTs for $4 off of $20 purchase type CRTs? I noticed on one that just printed recently at the bottom of the CRT it says that you can only use one $x off of $x purchase per transaction. I am not sure if that is just in the region I am in (I am in the DC area for work) since I haven't seen it print on my ones back home in Wisconsin.

I am 99.9% positive they have always said that....however if you look at their policy, it specifically tells you that you are allowed to use multple $$/$$ total purchase coupons...HTH

I can't believe I've missed it always being on there (I am usually pretty good about reading the "fine print" to make sure I don't mess up something).

It also tells you the wording at bottom of the coupon gives specific instructions. Which is telling me that we aren't supposed to use them together when they have that wording. When CVS had the $3/$15 that you could print technically as many as you wanted, that was changed with the new FB promotion too.

Like I said, I dont believe CVS added that to their policy, just because of the 3.00 off of 15.00 Facebook promo. If that was the case, they then would have needed to re-issue the policy to every store and then tell them not to allow something anymore and then "forget" to take it out of the revised policy with the mention of the logo discrepency. I can tell you that I just used multiples yesterday, and even pointed it out to my manager the sort of new wording and he said that we are allowed to still use multiple as long as each one is met. He said he believed the new wording was due to the fact that people were useing a 4.00 off of 20.00, and a 3.00 off of 15.00 and only buying 20.00 worth of product. The proper use of these total purchase coupons add the back numbers together, for example, in the above scenario I just said you would have to purchase 35.00 to use both. I am going to call today, and post my results from corp with specific supervisors name that I speak to. HTH

| It appears the wording only appears on non specific products such as beauty items or a $x.xx amount of general order. I guess we'll see if it really changes anything.

So CVS forgot to tell stores it was allowed, and did not issue them the new policy. CVS then left in the part where the fine print gives specific instruction on coupon redemption? And also forgot to change wording on the said coupons?

I will say this. If you believe that CVS never issued an email/memo to their store managers or regional managers about a policy change then I really dont know what to say. As a corporation, I am absolutely positive that they did. I believe there was probably more of a store break down with employees actually reading it, or managers making employees aware of the change. Any time Ive had an issue with the policy, they were able to produce a copy as well, and see it for themselves, so obviously the info was there, they just werent AWARE of it. Thats a break down of communication at the store level, not with corp issuing the policy change etc. Actually I think i might have answered your question. I never said CVS forgot to tell stores its allowed, I believe that was more lack of knowledge by employees. And these coupons have ALWAYS said, 1 per person, etc, they just werent sooooooooo specific. In the end, people are going to draw their own conclusions on how they WANT it to work best for them. Everyone is going to try and justify what CVS INTENDS with wording, but I can tell you, you could sit down 50 people, and ask them what they think the thing means to them, and everyone is going to have a different opinion. I try not to deal in opinions, I like facts more than what someone else can justify, so thats why I will call and speak to a supervisor, and will stay on the phone, until they are 100% positive the answer they get is true and correct, no matter if I have to stay on for 1 hour or 2. Im not arguing, not my nature, anything I post, is to HELP people, although since joining, I have been called names *** I will post my results when I call.

As for my specific question, maybe worded badly. I tend to do that. But why would CVS forget to take the wording off the coupons if we are allowed to use multiples of any $/$$ coupon. I'm asking because you said they would not forget to issue a new policy memo to stores. However the wording in the policy about specific wording & coupon wording remains the same. I know the one store I showed the coupon policy to said they did not know of the change. This was months after the change. A store i visit rarely when my store is out of stock. As a corporation CVS is very sloppy Just look at the mistakes in sales a lot of times. Recently was the .99 cent nivea producing 2 ecb. Not intended but happened. Many stores do not follow the same coupon policy. Even for what is spelled out in black and white and clear to any 5 year old. A corporation of their size should have uniform customer service in regards to the policy. But it doesn't. I don't see this as working in my favor. In fact, I would love to be able to go to any CVS and be able to use multiple $/$$ coupons. I'm just letting you know my personal experiences with this issue. I also know that shortly after the first $3/$15 CVS coupon (where tons were able to be printed) some stores had coupon retraining. And that is when I was told that only transaction off coupons without that wording were allowed to be grouped. I do look forward to your conversation with a supervisor! I do hope I am wrong. I'm not sure if you are saying that by debating the issue I am being nasty. I am not. When I first started here on AFC I felt "singled out" sometimes, but as time went on I just realized it for what it was. People quickly posting and trying to answer in as few words as possible. I remember my debate with monkeydawn helping me to understand what $2/1 face product was. In the end I understood exactly what she was saying, and it wasn't sugar coated. She just plainly said what she knew to be true. To this day she is someone I respect and always look forward to debating issues with! If people have called you names, you should report that. No one should be called names. I assure you I mean no personal disrespect to anyone. I just post my experiences.

Ok, I just spoke to CVS CS, then CVS Extra Care, and a supervisor. I read off the wording on the coupons, and the wording in the policy about multiples, and the wording about following the wording on the bottoms of the CRT's...Everyone I spoke to apologized about the confusion with the new wording, and they agree that it is confusing, because each one conflicts with the other. They all said that the general rule when it comes to total purchase coupons is that you add the last number together and that is what your total must be pre-tax in order to use both. Example: Using a 5.00/10.00 Vitamin Purchase and a 5.00/20.00 general purchase, then your total needs to be 30.00 or more to use both, (each total purchase coupon must be met). This means that you cant use a 3.00/10.00 cosmetic total purchase coupon and a 5.00/20.00 general total purchase coupon and only spend 20.00. You must purchase 30.00 in order to use both. I know that some people were/are being told that this is not true, as one is specific and one is general, but I urge you to use some common sense with this. Just because 1 is general and 1 is specific doesnt mean that the total must equal only the highest priced one. Add both numbers together and that is what your total must be pre-tax Just because you get an answer that you like dont make it right. I could keep asking different stores or CS agents until i got the answer that is most likely wrong, but fits best for that scenario, but really there isnt a need for me to do that. If I look at it with common sense, using 2 total purchase coupons, means, my totals must be met. They did say they would pass this along about the confusion with conflicting wording. The supervisor said they are constantly working on the policy to make it better. I agree that they can NEVER get it 100%, just way tooooo many scenarios that could/will go wrong. I just ask that we use some logic with our thinking, and not try to get technical, or play word games with the current policy. I think CVS offers the best deals, so lets not ruin it for US.

Thanks for making that call. I'm phone-a-phobic so I do not make calls often. Did they say they would update the policy? Or how they would let stores know? Cause honestly I'd love to walk back into the one CVS (the cashier was nasty about using multiples, I've had problems with her before this about coupons stating 1 per purchase and refusing to let me use 1 coupon per box of hair color during John Frieda clearance) and do a TX and have solid non-conflicting piece of paper to put in her face. Just so you know too my total for that TX was $97 and I tried using 4 of the $3/$15.

i think it's because of those coupons that shall not be named and cvs protecting themselves. Wow it really sucks for the regular couponer that didn't do anything wrong and appreciated the opportunity to have great deals once in a while.

...I like to call while Im in the store...because when CS calls the stores to correct them, they treat me waaaay better, not that they treat me bad, and I dont ever call with an attitude. I usually call and say "were a little confused with how this should work, can I get some clarification because I LOVE shopping CVS, and this is how this has ALWAYS worked before...and I want everyone who shops CVS to get the best deal possible the right way...". This put the store employees at ease, so its like your not calling to get them in trouble, and it also lets CS know how much you like shopping there, and that your not just trying to help yourself, but help everyone else have an enjoyable experience. And I always end the call by asking them to call the store just so the employees dont think Im talking to myself... ...and of course I always tell them how great the CVS is that Im at, and assure them that the issue Im calling about is just so we are all on the same page, and Im not calling just to complain, or be a jerk.
