Cvs accepts competitor coupons?

When I wen to my CVS I noticed on the outside electronic sign that it said, now accepting all competitor's coupons. Anyone else know anything about this?

Mine has this too but it specifies prescription coupons. Does it say anything about that on the sign?

Trish is right - usually that sign means they accept competitors prescription coupons. Like transferring a prescription and getting a $25 gift card.

That would be awesome if my store accepted competitor rx Qs, bc I have an rx to fill. Wags has a Q for transfers but they don't accept my insurance. I will call and ask.

It's in their written policy that all stores are to accept them. If yours won't, a quick call to CS will clear it up in a jiffy - they just call the pharmacy and give 'em a heads up

My store has this sign outside, but when I went inside and asked about it, they told me they don't honor competitors prescription coupons.

I thought it was strange when the electronic sign outside said they do.

A million thanks! I am going to print it out, bring it with me before I fill my rx and if they say no, I'll call CS.

I asked my store about matching the Walgreens deal for $25 gc to transfer my prescription and pharmacist told me they wouldn't but offered $10 one. I decided to go with the better deal although u really hate filling scrips at wags.

I wouldn't let them tell you no. Call CS and ask them to give the pharmacy a courtesy call. They are really nice when they do it, it's never been a big deal when I've asked for it.

Here's what the policy says:

Quote:
A. Here are guidelines surrounding pharmacy coupons:

CVS/pharmacy does accept competitor coupon and transfer offers; however, matching or providing incentive for an automatic refill program is strictly prohibited. It is against CVS/pharmacy policy to accept this type of competitor coupon for enrollment in ReadyFill®.

Coupon offers are not valid and must not be honored for prescriptions paid for in whole or in part by state and or federal health care programs. These programs include Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare.

Coupons also are void where prohibited by law. Coupon offers are not valid for prescriptions purchased in the states of MA, NJ and NY, and on any prescription for a controlled dangerous substance in the states of HI and LA.

The gift card received from a coupon offer cannot be used to pay for the same purchase but can be used for future purchases.

CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized internet postings, copies or facsimiles of any offer. The original valid coupon must be presented at the time of purchase.

It worked! I asked my CVS and they said to just bring the Wags Q and they'll give me a gc. Score! Thanks again, Robbo! This was perfect timing.

Hmmm ... wonder what they would do with a weis coupon for $1 off per gal gas coupons for a new or transfered rx? (20 gals max = $20) maybe 2 gas gc's?

Update: Picked up my rx today and the cashier okay'd the Wags Q with her manager, but as a new pharmacy tech, she was taking a while to ring it up. Well, her smarty pants co-worker peeked over at her and said, "That says Walgreens on it." so she says, "I know. I just checked with so and so." Then the co-worker so rudely and loudly says, "We don't accept those." I said, "Your policy says you do, and I already checked with the manager yesterday." I got my gc, but wish the co-worker wasn't so nosy. It was very busy and there was a long line. I don't know why she felt like she needed to butt in like that.

That coworker of the newbie tech is not smart at all. The competitor coupon brings in a new customer the first time, but second time onwards it's their customer service that will keep or lose that customer. With that kind of attitude, who's gonna return to fill anything else?! The intended effect of accepting competitor coupon is totally lost by her brainless behavior! Sorry to sound harsh, but true!

CVS has let me use the ones that say "transfer" as long as the most recent fill was anywhere other than CVS.

They get a little more strict when it says "new" or "new or transferred". If they're counting it as new, it has to be the first time it was ever filled for that family member at CVS ever. (So you can use one on a prescription a different family member has used before on someone else, i.e. I got a GC when I filled an Amoxicillin prescription for the first time for the baby even though everyone else has had countless filled for that med)

Then the co-worker so rudely and loudly says, "We don't accept those." I said, "Your policy says you do, and I already checked with the manager yesterday." I got my gc, but wish the co-worker wasn't so nosy. It was very busy and there was a long line. I don't know why she felt like she needed to butt in like that.
I went to CVS to pick up 4 prescriptions today, 1 of which was transferred. I had another newbie at the register and she didn't know how to ring it up, so she calls the store manager over since he was a few steps away. Well, Omgoodness.....guess WHO butts in AGAIN asking the manager, "Have we decided if we're going to put a limit on these transfers?" It was the same know-it-all, smarty pants worker. The manager didn't reply. I wanted to yell at her, but refrained. Excuse me, but they make a ton off my DH's diabetes meds and supplies. I know how costly everything is, because at one time, we had bad insurance and had to pay mostly oop. He doesn't transfer his meds around, but I do every few months. This is only the 2nd time I've done this too! Grrr....
